Opinion on multi-language scope

Hi Kim. I know you're on a break, but I'd be glad if you could give your opinion on that VIC. A multi-language scope is proposed (using {{En}} and so on) and I'd like to know whether it is compatible or not with your ideas (if they're precise enough) about the future localization of VIs. [not urgent] VI categories

Hi Kim. Just a question about the future category galleries for promoted VIs: how do you plan to include VI sets in the categories? Galleries work well as soon as we have one picture <-> one scope, but for a set? Several pictures with the same caption? I'm just curious about what you think, it's not urgent at all since we don't have the bot yet. --Eusebius (talk) 12:51, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

I think I would make a {{VIS-gallery-thumb}} template derived from {{VIS-gallery}} which renders the VIS with smaller images in a gallery-like way with one gallery per VIS (much like {{VISC}} vs. {{VISC-thumb}} used for VISCs). The VIS gallery pages should then be modified such that it switches between showing the VIS full blown when seeing the page and in small-version when transcluded on another page - see any VISC nomination page for how to swith using the includeonly and noinclude tags.

For the time being all VISs can probably be transcluded on one main presentation page - later, if the number grows, they could be sub-divided into subpages - probably identical to the first level subject hierarchy which we have agreed upon for the VIs (has Dschwen forgotten about that or what happened?). -- Slaunger (talk) 19:52, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

OK, good to see you have an idea about it. I'm not good at having ideas :-). I'm not a specialist of templates, but what you're talking about should be no problem, if I'm available enough when the time comes (no hurry for VI sets I guess...).
