Category:Historic bank buildings in Canada
[edit]Hello. You were probably unaware of this, but "historic buildings" categories are slowly being depopulated and deleted. The reason is because the criterion for inclusion, "historic", is vague and subjective, and because these categories unnecessarily duplicate an existing category structure. Category:Historic bank buildings in Canada has been moved to Bank buildings designated as cultural heritage monuments in Canada. Cheers. --Skeezix1000 (talk) 14:46, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 15:09, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
Autopatroller
[edit]Hi, Shawn in Montreal. You have made a lot of good work and your edits do not need to be patrolled anymore, so I just made you an autopatroller. Thank you for good work! Taivo (talk) 20:39, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
- Well, thank you! Shawn in Montreal (talk) 21:08, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
- Tu as raison. Jeangagnon (talk) 20:53, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
- D'accord. Je vais rediriger. Je pense que Carrefour Industrielle Alliance est un nom plus mémorable qu'un numéro civique. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 20:57, 23 February 2019 (UTC)

- @D. Benjamin Miller: It is indeed. Lovely work. I've used one here: fr:Rue Sainte-Catherine (Montréal)#Réaménagement du 21e siècle. thanks, Shawn à Montréal (talk) 12:16, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
- Great, glad I could help out. By the way, if you are looking for any help getting good photos of anything in Montreal, let me know. D. Benjamin Miller (talk) 16:36, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
- Oh my goodness, yes. For example, I recently created articles on two Montreal beaches that are without images, as far as I know: fr:Plage de l'Est and fr:Plage urbaine de Verdun. But no pressure! They are a bit out-of-the-way, especially the one out east. Shawn à Montréal (talk) 17:23, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
- @D. Benjamin Miller: oh, and for what it's worth I think we're still missing a great master shot of Saint Catherine Street for the French article. If you look at the one that they're using trucks obscure like a quarter of the visual field. I'm actually tempted to use the one that you shared with me at the corner of City Counsellors as the new top shot, even though it's not an iconic intersection. I suspect you'd agree with me that the really iconic part of the street is more around Peel? Which is just gonna be a mess, for years to come. Maybe I'm too old fashioned and maybe the new heart of Saint Catherine Street is that renovated part facing Complexe Desjardins in the QdS? Shawn à Montréal (talk) 17:31, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
- Oh, and I think it might've been a mistake to do so, but I even created a separate article on fr:Tour du Port de Montréal, which has no image. I probably should've created the article on the quai and I might still rename it. Shawn à Montréal (talk) 17:39, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
- I think I may actually have an image of that (albeit before opening). I would have to check, though. D. Benjamin Miller (talk) 18:48, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
- I can look to get some of those places and/or look in my photos to see if I have any pictures of them. I have no real thoughts on what the most representative/iconic shot of Ste-Cath would be — to be honest, I have no particular view stuck in my mind as definitive. I definitely have a lot of random shots from downtown, though, so I will go through and find some and maybe you will think they're good. As for the beaches, those are a bit afield for me (I don't think I've ever been to either) but I may be able to pop by. Feel free to ping me on frwiki or on here if I could be helpful. D. Benjamin Miller (talk) 18:48, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
