Uploading a new version
[edit]According to Commons:Autoconfirmed users, your account needs to be "autoconfirmed" before you can upload a new version of an existing file. This takes 4 days from account creation. I guess there is no rush so not any reason I can give to ask for this to be bypassed.
We could instead consider another file such as Bettmerhorn, Bettmeralp, Switzerland. It seems to be a similar view as File:Aletschgl.jpg which is described as "The large Aletsch Glacier (Canton of Valais, Switzerland), viewed from the Bettmerhorn observation deck". Would that be the same for you, i.e. Bettmerhorn doesn't feature in the image, but is the location of the photographer? It's a great photo but I have a couple of suggestions I could make wrt sharpening-noise and it seems to have embedded a display profile (e.g. for your monitor) rather than a standard profile such as sRGB. Generally sRGB is strongly advised to ensure the maximum number of people will see your image properly, and I'm not aware of any reason to embed a display profile in an JPG. Also, if you have Lightroom, then it is very useful to pop the photo onto a map to get the geocoordinates before uploading. Then the upload software will automatically add that information to the page. Would you be interested in uploading that image. If so, I can help you with licence or category or other questions you may have. -- Colin (talk) 07:36, 15 May 2017 (UTC)
Wiki Science Competition 2021 in Switzerland
[edit]Dear uploader of Wiki Loves Earth in Switzerland and Wiki Loves Monuments in Switzerland, we would like to remind you that Wiki Science Competition 2021 has started in the whole world. It is now open in your country until December, 15th.
If you want to take part in WSC2021, please consult this page. There are different categories that can be used (you might therefore have something already interesting in your archive). Prizes can be allocated for the 1st and 2nd positions in every category.
If you are an expert user, we remind you that the images uploaded within the deadline can be included in any case in their national category even if not uploaded with the main interface by simply adding the national category.
If you take part, please consider improving the description in English of your files, since such description is what the international jury will use to evaluate them at the following step. World finalists will be finalized after March 2022.
Sorry for bothering you and have a nice wiki.
