- @Elulene: The DR was not the result of a copyright issue. The image was flagged for speedy deletion as a duplicate, as a higher resolution PNG version had been uploaded. Since it wasn't actually a 'duplicate' (as a different file type) I converted the request to a DR. The only outstanding 'question' there is if File:Laborde pombo.jpg should be redirected to File:Guillermo Laborde - Retrato de Luis E. Pombo.png as 'redundant'... I think it's more likely that someone will overwrite the JPG with a higher resolution version, created from the PNG. Revent (talk) 15:24, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

- @Ruthven: Yeah, admins have a bit of an advantage, as the 'Process Duplicates' tool will overlay the images, or blink them, at the same resolution. Makes color differences, slight differences in framing, or printing 'bleed through' much more obvious. Revent (talk) 19:36, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

- Consider the idea of adding a copy of book frontispiece instead of a blank page: main File page would gain in quality and in informations. I'll review / reload as many djvu files with Google header, used by it.source, using this idea. - Probably even a better idea, yeah. Will do, in the future... I was not 'specifically' hunting those (I was actually going through ones in the "Book template with implicit creator" and making it explicit, as part of metadata cleanup) but will add doing so to my future 'to-do list'. File:Hedegaard Foods logo.jpg, because it's old, in use, and not an exact duplicate (since it's a different file format) isn't a speedy, converted it to a DR. Abela Sao Domingos
- Thank you very much for your comment. The second image was uploaded by mistake; please check the source of the first file and then the source of the second file. The descriptions are in Portuguese, and translated they say: "Sines Railway - building of the Abela - S. Domingos station" (first one) and "Sines branch line - building of the S. Bartolomeu da Serra station" (second one). But the photograph is the same, only slighty changed, what means that one of the descriptions is wrong. As you can see by this photograph, the São Bartolomeu da Serra train station had the higher section on the right, while Abela - São Domingos had the higher section in the left, which means that the photograph is from Abela and not Sâo Bartolomeu. I shouldn't had uploaded the second image, but I was mistaken by the wrong description, and both buildings are very similar anyway... Regarding the quality, both photographs are equal, but the second one is slightly bigger, so I suggest the deletion of the first file and the renaming of the second one. - @Ajpvalente: Lower-resolution image deleted, higher-resolution image moved on top. I also added a note at the end of the description about the misidentification, and changed the date to "before" the earlier publication (since we don't, apparently, know the exact date of the photograph). - @Sadrdrunk: Thanks, someone actually asked me about doing it on IRC, and it seemed pretty obvious... there are images of many subjects we were missing. (Albania has paratroopers? Really? ) I'll use that category as well... I've been trying to plow through everything. Some other cats that might be useful (if you are looking at the whole set)...
- * The Rio Tejo river crossing - the castle visible in the background of some images is the Category:Castelo de Almourol (see File:Air Defense Battery Watercourse (Rio Tejo) Passage, Trident Juncture 15 (22326926209).jpg for example)

- @Micione: Indeed strange, as I do not see it as a redlink. {{Catno}} exists, and is a redirect to {{I18n/catno}}.... that template uses {{Temporary Exhibition}}, and I recently made this edit there, which might be the issue... it was intended to make the internationalization template the fallback. - @Fae: I would agree with a statement that Colin tends to express his arguments in ways that offend people... he's done it to me, and I've jumped on him for it, though he didn't seem to get what I meant. What I would disagree with is saying that he was actually making a 'anti-LGBT' attack... he was just using an astoundingly ill-chosen example. I would not object to, or close, a discussion about how Colin argues 'in general', though I don't think it would go anywhere either, but the discussion you started was simply going to explode into a quite nasty, and personal, fight. I really don't think Colin uses ad-hominem 'attacks', but he does tend to use statements of personal opinion in a way that is essentially 'ad hominem' to some degree. I think that if you want to 'go there', you would be better off to start a discussion about his debating style in general, than about the single comment. The discussion you started was essentially an invitation for people to 'get away with' insulting him, though I don't think you meant to start something like that. Just like none of us should get angry with newscasters for repeating hateful UKIP statements or quoting the lies of the Tories :-). This was insensitive of me and I've apologised for that. But to continue this, and to bring up past issues (which you have already accepted were unfounded allegations) is disturbing. User:Fae, I'm formally warning you that if you pursue your unfounded allegations of homophobia (lets cut to the chase and use that word, as you did on your talk page) then I shall regard this as harassment. Not in the legal, criminal sense, let's be clear, but in the totally unacceptable on this project sense. - Calling out anti-LGBT or homophobic language is entirely different to calling someone a homophobe. By all means consult a lawyer who can bill you for an explanation, though I suspect your bending the facts this way is deliberate manipulation. Your continued hostility, threats and allegations about me in response to my complaint will put off any other LGBT contributor making similar complaints about poor use of anti-gay language. For that reason your hostile campaign is shameful, when you could have simply recognised your behaviour in injecting LGBT hateful language into a discussion where it was completely irrelevant was your problem not mine. As you have mentioned your issues with my "method of argumentation/debating style" in several places now and noted you consider some Community response might be justifiable, it seems reasonable for me to attempt to fix that issue. However, as I think you suspect, such a community discussion is very likely to result in more heat than light, with people taking an opportunity to just be mean rather than helpful. I haven't really understood the issues so far, but am open to trying. I would of course favour this to be done in private rather than a public wiki. - @Amitie 10g: Sorry if that came across as annoyed, but... I did not know if you had been following the other discussion, and, honestly, digging back through the log of the review bot, and finding out just how many people have been changing the PD-Mark to CC-0, and how often, has been wearing on my patience. Not that I'm trying to mess with anything other than where the license was switched to CC-0, but it's way too many (and was not just you). I really, as I've mentioned elsewhere, don't think anyone was really acting in 'bad faith' doing it, but it was not the right answer. As far as how to actually deal with them, other than asking the authors to change what they picked on Flickr (or send permission to OTRS) I don't really know a good answer... it something that's going to have to be sorted out by the community, I think. Unfortunately, it's hard to think of anything other than deleting them that's not going to create something like the URAA drama. (I don't mean the question about 'old' URAA uploads, I mean the fact that people are 'still' uploading images that are obviously copyrighted under the URAA, and sometimes actually flagging them as 'not PD in the US'.) We need a solution that does not result in people that 'don't like it' just using PD-author incorrectly instead, and I am somewhat concerned about that being the result. - @Amitie 10g: They should, actually, be ending up in Category:Flickr public domain images needing specific licenses, as that is added by the {{Flickr-public domain mark}} template. Revent (talk) 08:26, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
