You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). File:RAIN-FOREST-1.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons, and Commons:Image casebook for some specific examples. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on Wikimedia Commons; "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.
Please make sure that you only upload educational content you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Again, please read through Commons:Licensing, which is quite crucial, to understanding how Wikimedia Commons works. Thanks for your contribution, and please do leave me a message if you have further questions. And also:

- @Explicit: Hi there, simply wished to further discuss which policy the photos uploaded violated so if I was truly mistaken, similar uploads won't be made in the future. The owner of the work has given permission for uploads and commercial use of all images on their account; albeit not as direct like File:220602_르세라핌_대면_팬사인회_카즈하,_김채원,_사쿠라,_허윤진,_홍은채_단체_컷.jpg, but permission was indeed given for its usage. Thanks. Rain Forest (talk) 02:01, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, in the tweet you cited for these deleted images, the author specifically does not allow commercial use. This is confirmed in both the Korean version ("상업적 이용만 피해주세요") and the English version ("But never use it commercially!"). ✗plicit 02:30, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
- I see, you're right it does indeed state that making it "CC BY-NC 4.0". Appreciate the clarification. Rain Forest (talk) 03:06, 27 March 2023 (UTC)

File:Babymonster in Jakarta 2024.png has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

- @Btspurplegalaxy: The image you have marked as a violation of copyright in fact is not as the uploader has explicitly given and provided permission of its use.[1] Try have a view yourself on the YouTube link within the comment section; with the given permission, it should not have to be removed through a speedy deletion on commons. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Rain Forest (talk) 05:51, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- For YouTube that's not how it works. It needs to have a CCL under the video directly which does not. So it's copyrighted. Btspurplegalaxy (talk) 06:18, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- This is my first time encountering something like this, so I'm uncertain if it's acceptable. YouTube provides an official way for people to release videos under a Creative Commons License, so I'm not sure why the author didn't use that method. If a reviewer had seen it as I did, it likely would have been flagged for copyright violation. Btspurplegalaxy (talk) 07:14, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Btspurplegalaxy: I believe it may have been more appropriate to have had it nominated for deletion opposed to a speedy deletion, but it's understandable why it was done (assuming you most likely didn't see it); as permission was given, the video can be reused, perhaps the license would change instead of the YouTube tag if it really were a problem. The user that closes the request would most probably provide that information. Rain Forest (talk) 07:45, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- I would certainly wait for feedback, as I'm interested to see what will be said. As I mentioned before, I haven't seen others list a CCL in the YouTube comment section. Please make a note indicating that the author released the CCL in the comment section so others are aware. Btspurplegalaxy (talk) 07:57, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
