Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

Your message
[edit]In response to your message left on my talk page, I placed two of your recent uploads into the Couch Park category, although it is possible that those two photos – of the cover and the contents page of the Couch Park Master Plan – might be considered copyright violations (I'm not sure). Your third uploaded photo, taken of a printed black-and-white photo of Mike Whitmore, has been tagged for deletion from Commons, as you claimed it was your "own work", whereas it almost certainly is not, and is likely a photo whose copyright is owned by the City of Portland, not by you. Please read the Commons licensing policy, linked in the "First steps tutorial" box in the "Welcome" message at the top of this page. Steve Morgan (talk) 11:40, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
