WMF Funding?

I saw your post on the Village Pump. You might (or might not) be aware that some of us are preparing a modest Indiegogo campaign at User talk:Jkadavoor/campaign to raise money for a macro lens for Jee (he has a DSLR now, with standard zoom). Preparation is a bit slow but we're getting there. I saw you mentioned the foundation might be interested in funding this sort of thing. Can you say more? Send me an email if you'd rather talk off-wiki. I'm sure you'll agree that Jee is deserving of Foundation support with > 1000 images, > 500 WP articles illustrated and lots of Featured Pictures made even with compact zoom camera. Colin: I wasn't aware of those activities. I agree that Jee would be eligible for such an initiative if the WMF finally launches it. I don't have though much information about this. They contacted me 3 weeks agao and told me that they were studying to create a new type of funding for very dedicated people where a payback opportunity for the movement is a clear thing. I can ask again and let you know if there is something more concrete. Indiegogo is btw making a lot of money out of these campaigns (not counting PayPal fees), I don't know whether it is the right place for it. I cannot recommend it. Poco² 20:47, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

I am aware of the high fees and that is off-putting but don't know what alternative there is. Did you get much support from random strangers (who would find the campaign via Indiegogo rather than personal contact) or mostly from people in your network and team's network? Certainly, our aim is to have a modest goal of just the macro lens in order to be reasonably confident of meeting the target with lower fees (as failing to meet the target is ridiculously expensive). And PayPal and other currency transfer fees are painful too. But fundraising in general is an expensive business for any charity/good-cause and 4% is probably low compared to some fundraising methods. If WMF would permit personal fundraising on Commons, then we could host the campaign and video here with direct PayPal perhaps. Perhaps Facebook can be used for campaigning, but I don't use Facebook so am not sure. It would be good if you can find out where WMF is with their initiative and Jee could perhaps be a trial case. Even if they aren't ready, there is other equipment that Jee would benefit from later (such as macro flash, tripod, software/computer). I saw a proposal on Meta a month ago. It seemed very strict and more like a loan of equipment as long as you kept producing high quality images, and I thought was too complex and costly to succeed. -- Colin (talk) 21:05, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

There are other platforms, and probably there is one with lower fees. Hard to say but I guess that 80-90% of the donations came from people related to the movement, so not many strangers, no. Hola, pensaba que mejorar la perspectiva por añadir la plantilla de perspectiva se trata de hacerla en linea por un administrador como lo que hacemos en Wikipedia por ejemplo. Pero por supuesto, no te quería modificarlas por un programa en tu escritorio. Es mi tarea que lo debo hacer. Si me explicas como la puedo hacer, te agradezco mucho. لا روسا: Yo utilizo para ese propósito Adobe Lightroom, pero hay otros programas freeware que también pueden servir para este propósito: RawTherapee, Hugin o Gimp. Yo te recomendaría este último. Saludos, Poco² 13:03, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

HDR or Exposure Fusion

Dear Diego, can you please tell me with what technique you have created File:Catedral de Salisbury, Salisbury, Inglaterra, 2014-08-12, DD 35-37 HDR.JPG - is it real HDR, or is it exposure fusion? And what SW have you used, is it Photoshop? I am experimenting with these techniques and tools recently, and would appreciate very much if you could share with me some experiences or hints. Hallo Martin, dafür habe ich Enfuse verwendet. Wenn du deine Entwicklungen mit LR machst, dann empfehle ich dir diese LR/Enfuse Plugin. Das Ding macht kein Tonemapping, sondern in der Tat exposure fusion. Das Ergebnis ist, in meinen Augen, realitischer als mit anderen Tools (insb. Tonemapping).
