Hello, I'm quite astonished that Image:Rafiq Hariri April 2001 Pentagon Helene Stikkel.jpg.jpg can be labelled PD. Can you give your source for this picture or tell us what makes you think it is PD? Thank you. villy 22:02, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC)
It's from the US Department of Defense picture archives, found here: http://www.defense.gov/photos/Apr2001/010425-D-2987S-005.html
Their page about licensing says: "Information presented on DefenseLINK is considered public information and may be distributed or copied unless otherwise specified. Use of appropriate byline/photo/image credits is requested." Pingswept 02:06, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Please always make it clear on the image description page why a specific license applies - this is especially important for PD images without information about the creator. If possible, give a link to the source of the image and to the license statement there. This, the info you gave above should be on the image description page.
- Also, for images of the US-Government, there are a lot of specific tags that describe the status in detail - have a look at Commons:Copyright tags. I have changed the tag on Image:Rafiq Hariri April 2001 Pentagon Helene Stikkel.jpg.jpg to {{PD-USGov-Military}} and added the source.
- Btw: I added a link to your wikinews-page on your user page. Change it around if you like. -- Duesentrieb 00:26, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)
