You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). File:Beyond-Recall2.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Thanks for uploading File:Beyond-Recall.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

Talkbacks
[edit]If you cannot be bothered to actually write a message on your talk page then please stop placing a talkback notice on my talk page telling me there is a message when there is no message. It is disruptive and you need to stop. Ww2censor (talk) 23:55, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
I'm confused
[edit]Turns out I have two talk pages, en:User talk:Pfitzgld and this one. My response was on the former. It read:
- ==Image permissions==
- Hi Ww2censor, got your messages (and apologies, an earlier version of this message disappeared somehow). For:
- Please send permission for File:Beyond-Recall.jpg to OTRS
- Please send permission for File:DIC-TAT-Metronome-drawing-1.jpg to OTRS
- Marie Hanlon has already given permissions via permissions-commons@wikimedia.org with license Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International, on 30 November I believe. She used the template from https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Email_templates.
- Similarly for:
- Please send permission for File:Anita Groener.jpg to OTRS
- Anita Groener also gave permission via permissions-commons@wikimedia.org with license Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International, using the same template, on 16 December.
- Is this not how it works? – I'm new at this.
- Many thanks,
- Peter
Pfitzgld (talk) 00:19, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
- Ok Peter, so if you leave a talkback on my commons talk page it will link to this, your commons talk page, where the original deletion notices about the images were posted. My commons talk page knows nothing about you posting on your enwiki talk page and the images are not on the enwiki but here. Keep them separate to avoid any confusion for everyone. If Anita Groener has in fact sent permission to the OTRS team they will review her permission and post a ticket to each image when they are satisfied everything is ok or be in touch with her to iron out any issues. In the meantime, because OTRS is backlogged up to one month, you should add the following tag {{OTRS pending}} {including the brackets) to each image so they don't get deleted though even if they do, the OTRS volunteer will restore the image/s when a ticket is issued. Hope that helps elimates the confusion. Ww2censor (talk) 12:50, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
- BTW, you did not post the talkback tag in a functioning way, so have a look at your talkback on my page in edit mode to see how to do it correctly. It now point here properly. Ww2censor (talk) 12:56, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
