Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Auf meiner Karte ist 34-36 ein an der Straße liegendes Doppelhaus (Altersheim) und nicht das Hinterhaus von 32. --Gödeke (talk) 16:07, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

Da hast du offensichtlich recht. Das habe ich jetzt auch rausgefunden. Merkwürdig ist nur, dass in der Denkmalliste nur von 34 (Teile) die Rede ist und nicht, wie sonst üblich, 34-36. Und das Doppelhaus sieht mir nicht nach denkmalgeschützt aus. Bis zur endgültigen Klärung werde ich den File wieder löschen lassen. Nach den Unterlagen bei der Denkmalbehörde ist am Seilgraben nicht das Haus Nr. 34 gemeint, sondern ein Gittertor zwischen Nr. 32 und Nr. 34-36. Und bei Seilgraben 32 wiederum ist nicht das Trafohäuschen denkmalgeschützt (vielleicht auch, ist nicht so ganz klar), sondern das Hinterhaus, weil dort Teile eines ehemaligen Couven-Hauses verbaut wurden. Das Bild habe ich geändert, ein Bild von dem Gittertor muss ich noch machen. --Peter Tritthart (talk) 11:19, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

Straßennamen

Ich würde mich freuen, wenn Du zukünftig die vollständigen Straßennamen verwenden würdest, also z. B. Lousbergstraße statt nur Lousberg. --Gödeke (talk) 19:16, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

Aerial ... Aachen

Hallo Peter, anscheinend gibt es bislang nur die Kategorie Category:Aerial photographs of the Städteregion Aachen. Da sie gerade mal 11 Bilder enthält, wäre es m.E. momentan nicht sinnvoll, eine eigene Kategorie nur für Aachen anzulegen. Wenn die Städteregion-Aachen-Kat. mal 100 Fotos enthält, kann man neu darüber nachdenken. Dir noch einen schönen Sonntag. --Túrelio (talk) 13:41, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

Ich meinte auch nicht unbedingt, dass für Aachen eine neue Kat. angelegt werden sollte. Aber man sollte m.E. die Category:Aerial photographs of the Städteregion Aachen auch auf der Seite Category:Aerial photographs of Germany by city führen, nicht nur unter ...North Rhine Westphalia. --Peter Tritthart (talk) 13:50, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
