Re: Flag of Languedoc-Roussillon
[edit]Hi Nikator, thanks for your message.
As an administrator, I can overwrite the file for you by uploading your version over the current one. However, before I do that, I have two questions for you: firstly, the flag seems to consist of straight white and yellow lines, while the SVG version you uploaded has lines that seem to be hand—drawn; have you drawn them yourself, or is there a legal document or a graphic specification that defines that? Secondly, the shade of red in your SVG differs from the one used in File:Flag of Languedoc Roussillon.svg — would you mind explaining the difference to me? Thanks, odder (talk) 12:48, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
Re: Re: Flag of Languedoc-Roussillon
[edit]Hi, Concerning the flag: the pattern has been extracted from this file. Idem for color. Text has been removed. Logo has been centered.
I also made an arms of coats based on the old arms File:Arms of the French Region of Languedoc-Roussillon.svg. The new version is: File:Region of Languedoc-Roussillon (ARMS).svg. For the background color, I kept the same color as the old one since it is also a traditional color for Languedoc-Roussillon.
I'm not an expert in drawings you know :-( I will be more than pleased if someone draws a better flag and coats of arms with this (not so new) logo. I just did some quick work because I noticed that most of the Wikipedias were using a flag and logotype outdated since 2004 (there was an intermediary logotype between 2004 and 2005 with the name "Septminanie" on the flag).
I contacted the original authors of the File:Flag of Languedoc Roussillon.svg and of File:Arms_of_the_French_Region_of_Languedoc-Roussillon.svg too (hoping that they will do a better version than mine :-)). For the flag, the first author is no longer doing flags :-( I am waiting for an answer from the second author (for the coats of arms).
By the way, I updated the flag and the arms on Languedoc-Roussillon on Commons. Is that ok or not ???
*I sometimes feel so dumb on all those Wikis*

- Thanks for the answer. Given that the file you used is used on the official website of the region, then I think it should be fine to use it. I agree it might be prudent to wait for other people's opinion on the subject, so let's give them a few days to respond :) As for your update on Languedoc-Roussillon, it's not only OK, but also welcome. Thanks for your involvement in this, and for your contributions to Commons! odder (talk) 09:12, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
Languedoc-Roussillon arms
[edit]Sorry for being late, I've been really busy. I'm doing other files but I'm going to see the new Languedoc-Roussillon arms and I'm going to change it when I've finished previous asked files. Thanks so much for your message. --Heralder (talk) 20:39, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
