Lingua Libre does not use this format because they aim to have multiple recordings for each (language, word) couple, and it would obviously not work. — Ltrlg (talk), 20:28, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Ltrlg: It would be really valuable to have a discussion with the Wiktionary community about this. This format works for entering the audio files, but I assume the point is for those files to be used on Wikimedia wikis. I can assure you that unless the naming is standardised or you partner with us in some way, these files will not get used on Wiktionary, and that would be a shame. - One of the goals of Lingua Libre is indeed to provide recordings for Wikimedia. Please look at the description page for more. The main developer of Lingua Libre has developed a bot that adds these files to some wikis aleady (Lingua Libre Bot). The French Wiktionary is happy with it, but it may be less relevant for wikis that don’t want huge lists of audio pronunciations added to pages. I’m not sure why he didn’t develop the bot for the English community yet, but I found no evidence of someone taking the chance after his message. (I’m not involved with LL more than being a contributor, BTW. I just saw your request because this was in my watchlist.) — Ltrlg (talk), 03:31, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Ltrlg: Thank you for your help in this matter. I guess I missed that message, but I'll contact him now. Metaknowledge (talk) 04:08, 19 March 2019 (UTC)

- I don't think it's reasonable to have per-project naming conventions. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:25, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
