File:Coat of Arms - Alexandria, Egypt.svg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with {{subst:OP}} and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request.

- I realize the mistake. You can delete the file immediately. How do I upload the SVG version of the low resoltion file that already exists? The low resolution file is protected. Marwan2626 (talk) 17:24, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
- I take that back! The file is not subject to Copyright according to Egyptian law. Please refer to the other emblems of the other Governorates of Egypt for more details. Here is a summary official badges and emblems in Egypt are not subject to copy right. Regardless of their source or target language, all official documents are ineligible for protection in Egypt, including laws, regulations, resolutions and decisions, international conventions, court decisions, award of arbitrators and decisions of administrative committees having judicial competence. (Article 141 of Intellectual Property Law 82 of 2002). This Egyptian work is currently in the public domain in Egypt because its copyright has expired pursuant to the provisions of Intellectual Property Law 82 of 2002. The 2002 law, which repealed Copyright Law 354 of 1954, was not retroactive, meaning that works which had fallen into the public domain in 2002 remain out-of-copyright in Egypt (details). I just created the svg from the official emblem. It is not a copy righted city logo as is the case in the USA for example. Marwan2626 (talk) 18:06, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
