[edit]Hi Mark
I've been downloading my Landcare Research images direct from their image database as these have clear Creative Commons copyright licenses attached however I haven't come across any images of this particular species. If I have any issues I tweet a Direct Message on twitter to Karen, their social media person running their twitter account @LCR_NZ. She has been extremely helpful. I understand that their policy has changed and that they are now using a CC BY 4.0 license for their images but that it will take time to transition and work through all their image database as well as to change the copyright licensing on all their images on their website etc. I'm unsure from your message whether you have obtained written permission to use the image in Wikicommons but that the stumbling block is the copyright symbol on the source page. As I understand it, if you have written permission confirming that Landcare Research New Zealand Ltd is now licensing the image for reuse under CC BY 4.0 then you can still load the image into Wikicommons under that license despite it appearing to have a different license on the source page. You will have to ensure you explain these facts on the image description in Wikicommons etc and give the proper credit to ensure the image isn't subsequently deleted though. I'm afraid if Landcare Research isn't prepared to give you that written permission you will be unable to use the image in Wikicommons until they do so. I hope this helps!
