Goodies, tips, and tricks Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities. You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads. Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

The URL provided by you in the file doesn't show anything indicating its Creative Commons license. OhanaUnited^{Talk page} 05:07, 12 May 2024 (UTC)

I have now added a link to the subpage which states that "Content, which is published under the Creative Commons License may be used only in accordance with the specified license conditions." The image is labelled as being under CC BY 4.0 on the website. Maple Doctor (talk) 06:16, 12 May 2024 (UTC)

Unfortunately, the license must be displayed on the said page. And the only copyright license mentioned on that page is "© 2023 | Helmholtz-Zentrum Potsdam - Deutsches GeoForschungsZentrum GFZ". OhanaUnited^{Talk page} 02:39, 16 May 2024 (UTC)

Re: Is this allowed?

You can't just find a random image online and consider it to be public domain by default. The default position for images (online and offline) is that they're copyrighted. It's only in a few cases, such as NASA or the author explicitly said so, that waive certain (or all) of their copyright permissions.
