A cup of coffee for you!
[edit]Thanks for the conversation.
I might say more privately but I see that you are not accepting emails. I can follow up with everything on wiki, which probably is best. Since wiki's process does not always communicate gratitude to the extent that short emails sometimes can, I want to be clear that I appreciate the conversation you started. I am less concerned about any particular case and more concerned that I think similar situations happen routinely. I am not sure how to address these things but I am thinking. - @Bluerasberry: Gaming the system, noticed because of my AIV work on Wikipedia. Posting this on the Commons VP thread for the record, and my Commons talk page so it's there indefinitely for my own reference. I just noticed on the Veronica Lake talk page how this went down, and I think some safeguards should be in place so it doesn't happen this way again. The original uploader got you to be the one to post to the talk page. In such a situation, the person who contacted you will not be reverted/blocked from that talk page. It falls on your posting, and you did nothing but respond to a request. That loophole needs to be changed so it doesn't happen again. Maile66 (talk) 12:09, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
Village pump draft
[edit]Hi,
I started a draft for the Village Pump about the deletion process here. It's just a start, and your input would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to edit it.CaroleHenson (talk) 21:20, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. I added, and you should feel free to reword any of it. I feel every editor across the wikis should have the recourse to be heard if they are blocked. Maile66 (talk) 21:56, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
- Absolutely! Your edits were lovely, thanks! If you don't mind, I'll post your name as a contributor to the posting.CaroleHenson (talk) 22:02, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, please add my name to this. I think emending the process is much better for the long-term. I'm an admin on English Wikipedia. Admins make mistakes all the time. Maile66 (talk) 22:12, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
- Done. It's posted at Commons:Village pump#Block process.–CaroleHenson (talk) 22:26, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
File:Two women helping in the war effort - NARA - 195503.jpg
[edit]Could you indicate where you got that this picture,or the women, are from or in Alaska? thanks, Dankarl (talk) 03:57, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
- If you feel this was in error, please feel free to change the category. That was 4 years ago, and I can't tell you anything more than is in the edit history. It looks like part of a group of images I categorized in 2014 via Cat-a-lot. Too long ago for me to know. Could be an error on my part,. Maile66 (talk) 15:36, 11 December 2018 (UTC)

Category:Maps_and_emblems_of_El_Paso,_Texas has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category. In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! |

File tagging File:Price Daniel Jr.jpg
[edit]This media was probably deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Price Daniel Jr.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Price Daniel Jr.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |
