Pay attention to licensing
|
Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content: images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose.
File:Bizerta1918.jpg seems to be free (or it would be proposed for deletion), but it was identified as having a wrong license. Usually, it is because a public domain image is tagged with a free license, or because the stated source or other information is not sufficient to prove the selected tag is correct. Please verify that you applied the correct license tag for this file. If you believe this file has the correct license, please explain why on the file discussion page.

File tagging File:Leontiev1b.jpg
[edit]This media was probably deleted.

Thanks for uploading File:Leontiev1b.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Leontiev1b.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

- Photo from my personal collection. I personally scanned the photo and posted it. I personally agreed to the free use of the photograph, since it is rare and historians need such photographs. Why was the photo deleted?? MBlinoff (talk) 08:41, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
- Just because you scanned it, does not mean you hold the copyright. Who owns the photo, and who took the photo in the first place? Did you inherit it from a family member? Applodion (talk) 22:15, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
- It is unknown who took this photo. Almost all photographers were killed in 1926-1929 and 1945-1947. This and other photographs were given to me by members of Nechaev’s Detachment, some who survived, some who emigrated from Shanghai through the island of Tubabao to the United States in 1949. In the 90s they gave me their photographs. According to international laws, I, as the owner of the photographs, am also the owner of the copyright for the publication. these photographs. My original work is considered to be scanning, correction of defects and signatures. Regards, Mikhail. MBlinoff (talk) 10:06, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
