Hello, Méticuleux!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

If Rieder died in 1942, then he hasn't been dead for 70 years... AnonMoos (talk) 08:59, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reply Hello !This painting is my property (private collection Méticuleux), so I allow it went online in the public domain before 70 years. Cordially.
Responder: Esta tabla es de mi propiedad (colección privada Méticuleux), así deje que se puso en línea en el dominio público antes de los 70 años. Cordialmente --Méticuleux (talk) 09:27, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you own the physical paintings, that doesn't always mean that you also own the copyright to the paintings... AnonMoos (talk) 09:57, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with you, but in this case I worked for 10 years with painter's grandson (last descendant) to establish the "Catalogue Raisonné"of this artist – his e-mail : Paul Rieder "polarispfr@yahoo.com" --Méticuleux (talk) 10:14, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That has nothing to do with it. However, the paintings will become part of the Public Domain on January 1st, 2013. I will change all those fraudunelt license tags then. --FA2010 (talk) 17:47, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
