[edit]Hello Loopy30. I noticed that you are again failing to include full and complete sources for your iNaturalist uploads, such as File:Neorthopleura texana.jpg and File:Conotrachelus leucophaeatus.jpg. Please be more careful when uploading. AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 00:52, 17 July 2023 (UTC)

Uploads from iNaturalist
[edit]Hi Loopy - thanks for doing a lot of these! Could I ask that you give them more informative filenames including the location, please; and when an observation has several images, to add all of them (if of suitable quality) rather than just one. As an example, you uploaded File:Marchantia quadrata.jpg which doesn't tell you anything other than the species name; I have just renamed this as File:Marchantia quadrata, Liezen, Austria 1.jpg to add the location and a set number, and also uploaded the other two photos in the same observation, as File:Marchantia quadrata, Liezen, Austria 2.jpg and File:Marchantia quadrata, Liezen, Austria 3.jpg, to make a clear set of images. Thanks! - MPF (talk) 11:31, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi MPF, thank you for adding additional images of these lesser known species to Commons. As my goal is to add at least one image for any species that lacks an image on Commons, your work helps produce an even more comprehensive coverage.
- In order for me to be able to thank the original authors once their images are used, I can only search for their name in my file Uploads tab when each image has been uploaded individually using the Upload Wizard. The authors name does not appear on the file entry on my "Uploads" tab when the image is uploaded as part of an automated multiple uploads. As a result, for me to upload multiple images individually represents an increase in workload that would greatly reduce the number of unique taxa that can be added to Commons.
- As far as adding a political jurisdiction name to the image goes, while I understand that this may reduce the time that you spend in adding additional categories, it also adds a corresponding increase in time to my (volunteer) workload to provide it. Furthermore, while the location is already precisely (and in language-neutral terms) present in the lat/long coordinates added, visually there is no difference between a Norway spruce found in Norway and one found in North America.
