Categorizing images
[edit]Hi. Just a quick note about categorizing images... If a photo is contained in the individual category for its registration number (such as Category:HL8272 (aircraft)), you don't need to include categories for the aircraft type (Boeing 737-900) or airline (Korean Air), as Category:HL8272 (aircraft) is already a sub-category of Category:Boeing 737-900 (Korean Air). Likewise, you don't need to add the general category Category:Aviation to individual photos you upload. If you need more help, please have a look at the explanation at Help:Categories. I hope this helps, and thanks for uploading your photos to Commons. --DAJF (talk) 01:23, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Try using the Upload Wizard?
[edit]Hi. I've noted that all of your uploads to Commons invariably have the license duplicated, and you also appear to be adding Japanese descriptions manually using the format "日本語:○○○○○". Rather than uploading manually, have you considered using the Upload Wizard? It will help you separate English and Japanese (or any other language) descriptions properly, and will also prevent having the license appear twice. It does make the process much simpler, so you might want to give it a try.
Incidentally, using the {{ja|○○○○○}}
template is not just to make things look pretty; it actually includes a function to enable users to display or hide particular languages, so it is important to use this in file descriptions. I hope this makes sense. Feel free to drop me a line if you are still not sure. Thanks. --DAJF (talk) 07:16, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
