Hi Jeff - what is this in reference to? Kwoodworth2 (talk) 19:11, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You uploaded File:David Lashar.jpg as your own work, yet it is copyrighted by J. David Lashar. Who is the photographer? You appear to be with Maryland Libertarian, promoting Maryland Libertarian's candidates. Are you paid by Maryland Libertarian? You have a declared COI with en:Draft:David Lashar.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 01:14, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am not paid, I am a volunteer. It is not copyrighted at all! He took the picture. It's his picture. He doesn't have any IP protections on it and doesn't want to. Is there an option for this I am missing, or should he create an account and upload the photo himself? Kwoodworth2 (talk) 15:05, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Assuming he was in the US after 1989 when he snapped the pic and saved it electronically or on film (a tangible medium of expression), he automatically acquired copyright under the Berne Convention. The metadata also mentions his copyright. We need permission from him via VRT.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 16:17, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
