Is the Image:Denmark-Hedeland-amphitheatre.jpg an amphitheater ? in the photo it looks like a theater. MM

Well, that's what they call it (in Danish). - Kaare 16:06, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have waited a while for a reply from the company behind, to no avail. However, definition-wise it is a theatre as you pointed out; I had someone verify it on location. I guess the company calls it an amphitheatre because they either don't know any better or for obscure marketing reasons. - Kaare 17:08, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OTRS permission

[edit]

If you are still on the project, could you please go through the OTRS procedure with this file please? There currently doesn't appear to be any proof that he released the image under the currently used licenses. Thank you.--Rockfang (talk) 01:05, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Since the procedure was invented after the image was released, no I can't. - Kaare (talk) 15:33, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Couldn't you just contact him again?--Rockfang (talk) 21:06, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think you fail to see my point: I can't, and certainly won't, bother Mr. Stroustrup each time procedures change around here. - Kaare (talk) 22:35, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You may be interested to know that I've contacted him, and he gave permission. The file is fine now and will stay.--Rockfang (talk) 20:42, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kaare, could you take please a look at this deletion request? Apparently, someone uploaded three pictures from your nightcall.dk site without permission. Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 21:59, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thorvald Ellegaard Arena

Cologne Cycle Track from above
Lasse Norman Hansen and Michael Mørkøv - world champions in Madison 2020

Hi Kaare, would it be possible for you, to make photos of the sports venue? I wrote an article about it in the German Wikipedia, and it seems, that the hall looks very interesting. Thank you and greetings from Cologne, Germany, --Nicola (talk) 16:50, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Nicola: Yes, it's possible. From the pictures I've seen over the years, I agree that the hall looks very interesting. I'll definitely take some pictures from the outside, if I don't already have something useful in my archive. I've sent a mail to the cycling club, asking whether it is possible to either take some pictures from the inside, or whether some of their existing online images can be released under a free license. Viele Grüße nach Köln. :-) - Kåre Thor Olsen (talk) 19:07, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Kaare: That sounds good! :) Take your time, as you like. Anyway, tomorrow I will go to a rehab for 5 weeks. (You do not own a drone, by accident? Photos of velodromes from the bird perspective are especially amazing :)) Thank you in advance for your assistance! --Nicola (talk) 19:19, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Nicola: I've already heard back from the club, and I'll update this page once I know more. Sorry, I don't own a drone, but with the hall's relatively low roof, any images might not turn out that usable. I wish you a succesful rehab! - Kåre Thor Olsen (talk) 18:38, 26 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! The Wikipedia community in Cologne owns a drone, and some of my "colleagues" made these photos, after I asked them to do. (I am the point in the middle :)) The track is named after a cyclist, who was killed by the Nazis. CU, --Nicola (talk) 18:49, 26 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Nicola: Ah, I thought you wanted to use a drone inside the hall. :-) Great image! I don't even think it's allowed here to fly a drone in an urban area, unless you're a professional operator and certified. Sad story about Albert Richter (just read the article). - Kåre Thor Olsen (talk) 18:57, 27 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Nicola: Sorry about the long delay! After the initial communication with the club I never heard back from them. So, we'll have to make do with the pictures I shot from the outside. I don't find any of them very representative of the arena, as it is located partially within a small hill (a drone picture would indeed have been more useful). My selection of images are in an album on my homepage; if you see anything suitable for Wikipedia, please let me know, and I'll upload it here. - Kåre Thor Olsen (talk) 18:50, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the message! I think nos. 2, 3, 4 and 9 would be nice , but I like the photos of the construction. I do send you a small souvenir from Berlin :) (there will be some from the team pursuit aswell). --19:05, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
@Nicola: At long last I remembered to grab the images from my storage system. :-) They're now uploaded and added to Category:Thorvald Ellegaard Arena. I'll try to get (and upload!) some more images from a distance once the light rail construction in front of the arena is finished (which should be soonish). - Kåre Thor Olsen (talk) 19:23, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much! I added one photo in the article aswell as the category. [1]] - wonderful :) --Nicola (talk) 19:29, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
