Thank you for uploading images on Commons.
Please put your images in more relevant categories. For example to Category:Sevastopol.
Please use {{PD-user|Julien29}} instead of plain {{PD}} for your own images.

- Please don't put images in country (Category:Ukraine) category if city category exists. Otherwise country category will become overcrowded and useless for search. --EugeneZelenko 14:45, 24 July 2005 (UTC)
Ok I will do it now! Thanks for the help!
Senseless Filenames
[edit]Hi Julien, would you mind using senseful filenames instead of stuff like Image:IMGP0459.jpg in the future? :) -- Villigstman 18:47, 24 July 2005 (UTC)
- OK, I put deletebecause in the first file :) -- Villigstman 18:52, 24 July 2005 (UTC)
- Super! Actually, I've uploaded the right name : swiss fondue.jpg! Thanks for watching! ;-)
Kiev Photos
[edit]Love the photos that you added of Kiev... What's with the black bars? I've never seen anyone do that, but it adds a certain feeling to the photo, like it's a wide shot. Very nice. I'm proposing a whole new section for Kiev Photos. Take a look and tell me what you think. asma 18:37, 25 July 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for your comment! I'm really happy you like them, actually, I love taking pictures... and of course I like to post them! I think it would be nice to support any picture library on Kiev, so you can count on me! However, there is already a category on Kiev. Let me know if you want to create something else or if you want to enhance it.

File tagging Image:Kiev oblast detail map.png
[edit]This media was probably deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Kiev oblast detail map.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:Image:Kiev oblast detail map.png]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

File:Kiev 8.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Julien29. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Julien29~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
Community Liaison, Wikimedia Foundation
