Thank you for participating in Wiki Loves Monuments 2012!Dear Joelaldor, Thanks to the participation of people like you, the contest gathered more than 350,000 pictures of cultural heritage objects from 36 countries around the world, becoming the largest photography competition to have ever taken place. You can find all your pictures in your upload log, and are of course very welcome to keep uploading images and help develop Wikimedia Commons, even though you will not be able to win more prizes (just yet). If you'd like to start editing relevant Wikipedia articles and share your knowledge with other people, please go to the Wikipedia Welcome page for more information, guidance, and help. To make future contests even more successful than this year, we would like to invite you to share your experiences with us in a short survey. Please fill in this short survey in your own language, and help us learn what you liked and didn't like about Wiki Loves Monuments 2012. Kind regards, |

Re-upload request
[edit]Hi, Joe. I'm just wondering why you replaced the picture on File:Inmaculada Concepcion Parish Church, Guiuan, Eastern Samar.jpg on November 15 with a different one. The previous is a beautiful picture of the interior of the Guiuan Church and upon checking there's no other picture like it in Wikimedia Commons. Would it be possible for you to re-upload the picture again if there's no problem with it? Thanks. Briarfallen (talk) 20:33, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hey there. Sorry, I think I might have changed the picture inadvertently. Let me re-upload it for you and I'll let you know when it's done. Joelaldor (talk) 03:45, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
Hi Joe, just a reminder if it is still possible for you to reupload the first (File:Inmaculada Concepcion Parish Church, Guiuan, Eastern Samar.jpg) picture you uploaded on Nov. 15, 2013? Or could I just revert the last edit to have the old picture back? but Commons will lose the newer picture (facade). Is it okay to lost the newer picture? The church was badly damaged by the super typhoon last year. It would be nice to show its interior at Commons. Thanks. - Briarfallen (talk) 05:59, 13 October 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Briarfallen, I'm really sorry for not uploading right away. I got really busy with life. But since you've asked, I've uploaded a few more photos of Guiuan Church from my previous documentation for your use. Just check my contributions. :) - Joelaldor (talk) 04:41, 14 October 2014 (UTC)
Hi Joe, thanks for uploading the Guiuan pictures and thanks for the other interesting pictures you uploaded. I categorized some of them as they are not categorized. Thanks for sharing them. If you have more interesting and unique pics, please, feel free to upload them. - Briarfallen (talk) 13:39, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

- Hi Dharmadhyaksha. Everything that I have uploaded this morning are entirely my original work. I do work for cultural agencies and I have been heavily involved with documenting the damage of Visayas churches from last year's earthquake and typhoon. These are my before and after images. These images were also requested for upload by the WMF as our chapter's project will be featured in the WMF blog. Please remove the "marked for deletion tag" for these photos, if you may. Thank you. - Joelaldor (talk) 09:21, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Joelaldor! It's better to have sources and proper attribution to all images. You say they are original work of yours; but two years later if you are inactive here and someone nominates it for deletion saying they were published elsewhere in some newspaper, they all will be deleted. Can you do this; also upload the individual images separately. Then it is easy to attribute and use as well. I found that for the collage File:Nuestra Sra. de la Luz Parish Church, Loon, Bohol (Before and After 2013 Bohol Earthquake).jpg, you have used your own earlier image File:Nuestra Señora de la Luz Parish Church in Loon, Bohol.JPG and hence i have added it in the source. We would prefer if both images of a collage are linked thus.
And you may just reply here. I will keep looking. User pages are not for leaving messages. You should use user talk pages instead. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 02:29, 18 November 2014 (UTC)- Alright, this is noted. I understand your point. Let me do that soon, I'm currently doing more stuff outside of this. Thanks. -Joelaldor (talk) 02:32, 18 November 2014 (UTC)

- Okay! Add those sources when you get time. Meanwhile i have again tagged them with missing source. If you are able to provide sources till the deletion period comes, then its good. If not, you may always ask for undeletion at Commons:Undeletion requests. Me or someone will take care of it. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 17:55, 18 November 2014 (UTC)

[edit]This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Tayum Church (01).jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. Thank you. |

Thanks for uploading File:Pudtol Church Ruins (02).jpg.
Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2015 is open!
[edit]You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2015 Picture of the Year contest.
Dear Joelaldor,
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2015 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the tenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2015) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1322 candidate images. There are 56 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category. In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.
Round 2 will end on 28 May 2016, 23:59:59 UTC.
Thanks,
-- Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee 09:43, 22 May 2016 (UTC)

Autopatrol given
[edit]Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. ~riley (talk) 04:50, 25 March 2020 (UTC)
Source of derivative work is not properly indicated: File:Pictures of Dumanjug Municipal Bldg., by Martin Imperial Tinio, Jr..JPG
[edit]This file may be deleted. |
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Pictures of Dumanjug Municipal Bldg., by Martin Imperial Tinio, Jr..JPG, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |
