I saw that you created big parts of {{PermissionOTRS}}. May you can tell me why Items with OTRS permission confirmed still gets included if I use {{Autotranslate|base=PermissionOTRS|1=https://secure.wikimedia.org/otrs/index.pl?Action=AgentTicketZoom&TicketNumber=2009071510014875}}.
thanks for your help --D-Kuru (talk) 14:54, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, and thanks for your question. I will be using this section to help answer it.
- Unsubsted, the template evaluates as follows:
- That wikicode appears to NOT be including Items with OTRS permission confirmed. Is that the problem, that the category is NOT included? — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 18:34, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your fast answer. I only had a look at the preview of the page where excluded categories usually don't get displayed even they get included via a template. The problem is not that it is not included. The problem was that on the preview the category was still included even the template got replaced. However, it works :-)
- The code you created looks as if you would know a bit more than me about programming. May you can help me with a little issue:
- I created {{Taken on}} so that "taken on" will translated (the template works like Own work). I included the option that you don't need to include {{ISOdate}} separately. Even it may looks a bit silly there was a reason why I included the option:
- {{taken on}} {{ISOdate|2001-02-03}} would be OK: Taken on 3 February 2001
- {{taken on}} {{ISOdate|2001-02}} wouldn't be OK because it would be the wrong spelling: Taken on February 2001
- I thought about creating {{taken in}} but I don't thinkt that this would be a good idea. The problem is that I don't know how to tell the programm to seperate {{{1}}} for example so that "2001-02" would create "taken in February 2001". I also want to include a parameter with which you can switch between "taken on" and "taken in" manually if people prefer to use {{taken on}} {{ISOdate}} instead of {{taken on|{{{1}}}}}.
- I hope that you can help me with that problem. You can respond on this page but don't need to include the talk-back template on my talk page because I will see if my contribution is the last one if I have a look at my contributions

- Today is {{CURRENTYEAR}}-{{CURRENTMONTH}}-{{CURRENTDAY}} or 2024-12-22. You can make that look like ISO 8601 using {{#time: Y-m-d | date/time object }}, such as in {{#time: Y-m-d | {{CURRENTYEAR}}-{{CURRENTMONTH}}-{{CURRENTDAY}} }} or 2024-12-22, and more to the point {{#time: Y-m-d | 2001-02 }} or 2001-02-01 (which takes on today's day of the month). Unfortunately, Mediawiki is sorely lacking in string processing capabilities. :( — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 18:36, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
- :-/ looks a bit difficult
- I know how {{CURRENTYEAR}} and the both others, but I usually don't need todays day.
- I don't know how to seperate {{#time: Y-m-d }} and I'm too dull to decrypt or even use the code of {{ISOdate}}. {{ISOdate}} for example seperates {{{1}}} and uses {{Date}}. If there is no date there is no date added and it wouldn't make sense to add a wrong datesegment, would it?

Arilang1234 say Hi
Hi, recently admin Martin H accused me of Commons:Flickr washing, but that is not the case, as I was using [[:::PD-China]] for most my uploads, and all of my uploads are from 1930s and 1940s, some are even 1920s. I hope you can help me to find a way to keep these images, as I believe that these images would help future readers to understand 20th century history. I may have committed mistakes here and there, but majority of my uploads are for the good of average readers. If there is no other ways to keep these images on commons, it is the loss of average readers. Thanks. Arilang Arilang talk 05:08, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- I would suggest that you search Commons:List of administrators by language for "中文". — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 05:38, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
