Thanks for uploading File:Zelym Kotsoiev at the 2024 Summer Olympics.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

Thank you for providing the permission needed to release these pictures. It's very appreciated! Cryptic-waveform (talk) 13:20, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Actually permission already was sent to OTRS by photographer before I uploaded photos. Just I was waiting ticket to be complete and apply to all his photos published in sources mentioned in his permission letter. Thank you for your vigilance by the way. Merci beaucoup. NoFOP

[edit]

I acknowledge your expertise regarding NoFOP. There are many categories in Azerbaijan that meet the criteria for NoFOP. Would you be willing to assist me in marking more categories in Azerbaijan with the template? Thanks. Laurel Lodged (talk) 12:02, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If I face with category of the modern buildings or artistic works in Azebaijan I will tag them, no problem. Interfase (talk) 14:01, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If? The categories dedicated to His Excellency, the President of Azerbaijan, alone would keep you busy for a month. Do you doubt the amount of work involved in a proper, thorough marking of such categories? Laurel Lodged (talk) 16:10, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is not so simple as you think. Images taken from the website of the President of Azerbaijan are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. Website of the President of Azerbaijan cannot break the Law of Azerbaijan. Tags you put to the categories about the visits of Ilham Aliyev should be removed and put to the category of the building or monument itself. Interfase (talk) 16:20, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For exmaple, this category was tagged correctly[1], but this one was not tagged correctly[2]. If there is category about the monument in honor of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic itsels it can be tagged. But the category with the images licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license cannot be tagged. Interfase (talk) 16:34, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Adding to what's already been said, avoid tagging broad categories like Category:Equestrian statues in Baku. You can’t be certain that every equestrian statue in Baku is recent enough to fall under copyright (for example, two of the images in this case are of a 7th-century statue). Furthermore, do not add the NoFoP warning to individual files; it is meant to be applied only to categories. Please read the warning that appears when you try to apply it to a file. — Golden talk 16:51, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And two another statues were belonged to Franz Stuck, died in 1928 more than 90 years ago, not copyrighted as well. Interfase (talk) 18:37, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And that about the "File:Ilham Aliyev attended opening of Military Trophy Park in Baku 02.jpg" military park tag that Interfase reverted? The template states "This image features an architectural or artistic work, photographed from a public space in Azerbaijan" so it's eligible. Sure there are people visible, but the architectural space occupies the majority of the frame. Laurel Lodged (talk) 21:21, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
specific architectural work should not occupy the majority of the frame, not the general view. Interfase (talk) 06:15, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The pavement upon which the people stand is all part of the architectural element. So that's at least 80% of the frame altogether. Laurel Lodged (talk) 12:55, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is not an architectural work itself that requires FoP. Don't bring it to an absourd. Interfase (talk) 15:09, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The image shows the paved entrance, the paved viewing area and the information boards. These are all part of the architectural space and so are subject to NoFOP rules. Architecture is more than a wall. It consists of the entirety of the built space. Laurel Lodged (talk) 16:15, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nope. There is no any unique architectural elements that are copyrighted. Interfase (talk) 17:13, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
