Use croptool
[edit]May I use "croptool" to refine your uploaded file and remove the door at the right, so it is better centered on the poster? --Alexmar983 (talk) 11:15, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
Please feel free to modify the file as you proposed. It was shot with an iphone and I forgot to adjust it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Htfischer (talk • contribs) 16:21, 8 February 2017 (UTC) Htfischer (talk) 16:25, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
- Done. Thank you. I kept the very same proportion, I usually keep file in "standard" ratio (4:3, 5:16, 1:2, 1:1). I have also used ir on enwikipedia. So thank you.--Alexmar983 (talk) 16:44, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
- if it looks the same to you, it simply takes a while to update the display sometimes. Minutes, hours... I guess it is a cache of some database somewhere.--Alexmar983 (talk) 16:45, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
- Reading Commons:Freedom_of_panorama#Madagascar I am not sure if we can keep it but I left other people to decide it. I don't consider myself an expert on this issue. We'll see. Don't get frustrated if it is deleted. It could happen.--Alexmar983 (talk) 16:50, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
Ok, thank you for that advice. I will be prepared. It does effect all my files from Madagaskar? Htfischer (talk) 17:00, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
- Short writings such as the tomb of the king, or general composition (not too centered on a long text) should be fine, in my experience. This case has an original picture, so it might be an issue. Let's wait. You learn when you live :D Maybe there is some laws about government work that gives a different license. Someone will tell you. Plus here on commons rules are even too rigid.--Alexmar983 (talk) 17:40, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
File:161029 Madagaskar.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |
