Hi! Were you really the photographer that took these two pictures in 1930? JeremyA 16:30, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Certainly ;-) No, it was my grandpa, he`s dead and the pictures are part of the heritage. I just scanned it, so we.. kind of did this together --Grombo 16:32, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- Nice heritage! Is there any way that you could make that clearer in the image description/licence? I've looked for a better licence tag but I can't find one. I'm just thinking of 5 years from now (when you may no longer be actively editing here) if someone questions the validity of the licence. JeremyA 17:25, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- I also didn`t find a better licence. So I put it in the description, I hope this will straighten it out. --Grombo 18:58, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi! I just saw these two images and I took a few minutes to play with Image:ZeppelinLZ127b.jpg:
-
your original scan
-
retouched version
Do you have a higher resolution version of this? Time can be rough on these old prints, but there are digital tools that allow them to be restored without too much loss or change. Even the scanner leaves a digital mark. Thanks for the upload regardless of the answer to my question. -- carol 00:50, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
höhere Auflösung?
[edit]Ist es dir möglich Image:Andree96-1.jpg in einer höheren Auflösung zu scannen, damit man Ausschnitte vergrößern kann? --Atamari 17:54, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Hi, habe dir unter meiner Diskussion in de.wiki geantwortet. --Grombo 06:09, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

FP nomination
[edit]Hi, I have nominated your beautiful photo Image:Morning Fog at GGB.JPG at Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates. For me it is one of the best FP in Commons. Alvesgaspar 09:06, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks a lot, I`m honored! By the way: DSchwen shot his picture 4 days after my upload, so I was the first ;-) --Grombo 16:18, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Photo Permission Request
[edit]Grombo, is there any way I might contact you offsite regarding permission to use one of your photos for a minor project? If you'd rather not post personal contact details here, you may reach me through the e-mail function on this site. *Huge* thanks for your time and consideration. Photo used
[edit]Hi Grombo, Just wanted to let you know one of your photos was used in a blog post here: local.allstate.com/phoenix-az/plan-a-weekend-adventure-with-these-road-trips-from-phoenix/
Thanks for sharing!
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Grombo. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Grombo~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

Zeppelin photos
[edit]Hello - I'm a freelance filmmaker in Finland, making a documentary about hot-air ballooning. I would like to use two of your grandfather's photos in a documantary I'm making for Finnish TV. The photos, ZeppelinLZ127a.jpg and ZeppelinLZ127b.jpg are CC-BY-SA, but I would like to know how you want them to be credited in the end title of my movie. If I don't hear from you, I'll credit under the Archive Photos heading, thus: "Alexander Cohrs". Hope this is OK. Regards, Janke at en.wiki [1]
