Hello,

I found that you deleted Commons:Deletion_requests/Files_found_with_189268836@N04. In this case, the owners of Flickr account (a student organisation) has taken the responsibility of the files uploaded (the copy of e-mail is attached in that discussion). Why cant the official communication be taken in confidence, particularly when they have uploaded pictures of their leaders only ?? Can it be reconsidered ? (Ashique2020 (talk) 01:48, 1 June 2021 (UTC))[reply]

Why did you delete this file? The uncropped version was kept. --2003:C3:4F26:9859:496:1FFA:816A:548D 16:39, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Seems tool error? (`・ω・´) (talk) 15:03, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@-akko: yes it seems so. --- FitIndia Talk 18:34, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You deleted this/these image: [1] or [2]. I contacted the author, John Buonomo, to use the consent form at [3] and on May 10, he told me he did this. Can you tell me what went wrong? If Wikicommons has a system that intelligent people can't use it correctly, what good is it? How were we supposed to know if it worked or not before you deleted it? What can we do now? Tomruen (talk) 22:01, 13 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Tomruen: I have gone ahead and restored both the files, Please try and ask the author to contact OTRs and have them add a ticket number. --- FitIndia Talk 03:18, 14 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I noticed that you deleted File:FlagMaker 1.1 screenshot.png. I was under the impression that I had updated all the FlagMaker screenshots to point out the appropriate license (like here), but I may have missed the 1.1 one (I can't confirm since I can't see the deleted edits). Please check the discussion in Commons:Deletion requests/File:FlagMaker 1.0 screenshot.png. If that was indeed an overlook on my part, I'd be happy to add the correct license if you restore the file. Thanks! --Waldyrious (talk) 09:06, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Waldyrious: I have restored the file. --- FitIndia Talk 09:19, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I've updated the file page to list the correct licensing info. --Waldyrious (talk) 09:29, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fitindia, Noticed you deleted 3 pictures from my article. These pictures are rights-free however, and I have confirmation from the owner: how can I forward you this confirmation ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vronsky (talk • contribs) 07:01, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please have a look at Commons:OTRS.--- FitIndia Talk 09:42, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting files with "No permission since", but also still open regular deletion requests

[edit]

Hi Fitindia; I noticed that Missvain quite often added {{No permission since}} to files where a regular deletion request was already open (presumably because these were clear cases needing no further discussion). And also quite often, you then deleted the file, but did not close the associated DR, which therefore still lingers in the queue of deletion requests to close. I have closed some of them now as "procedural close", a random example is Commons:Deletion requests/File:PBS TJ40-G2.png (another admin who closed some of them is Jamslwoodward), but I see that several are still open e.g. in Commons:Deletion_requests/2021/05, and I think that it's better if the admin deleting a file also closes the deletion request. So this is intended just as a heads-up, maybe you want to close these still open requests... Gestumblindi (talk) 20:39, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Gestumblindi: Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I am going to be more careful next time around. I have closed most of them now and am going to have a look again if I have missed any in the past. Thank you again. Regards --- FitIndia Talk 07:24, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! :-) Gestumblindi (talk) 19:04, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Did you really check the files before you closed this DR?

[edit]

In this DR Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Necrocancer User:Jeff G. nominated all the uploads for deletion and you deleted all files. I really doubt that either of you checked all the files before nomination and deletion.

Let me give you an example: File:Arashi Ryūzō I trong vai Ishibe Kinkichi, vở Hana Ayame Bunroku Soga.jpg. That files show this image: https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/37330

Author is Tōshūsai Sharaku (1770-1825) and the date of the work is 1794. Other versions of the file can be seen in Category:Hana Ayame Bunroku Soga by Tōshūsai Sharaku.

Can you provide a case where a photo/scan of a 2D work like that can be copyrighted in 2021? --MGA73 (talk) 16:22, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@MGA73: I think there was a error of judgment on my part in this case I should have taken a much closer look. Apologies for the extra work caused. --- FitIndia Talk 18:44, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
