Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

Project scope
[edit]Hi Emgeeisu, please respect that Commons has a project scope and that contributed images must be realistically useful for an educational purpose. For this reason please give useful categories and descriptions to your images. So that every other user can find your images through the categories and can understand what you want to teach with the images through their descriptions.
For instance in your File:Upload522.JPG
- the file name does not comply to Commons:File naming: it's neither meaningful nor helpful.
- the description doesn't explain what is visible and where it is.
- the image is not categorized.
All in all this image is not educational at all and might be deleted for this reason. Therefore I urgently suggest to stick on the rules:
- Upload only educational images.
- Use meaningful and helpful file names.
- Give your images useful descriptions.
- Give your images useful categories.
