Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

The file you uploaded, File:ConEvoSkin2jpg.jpg, is a derivative work of four different images. Two of the images you used, https://www.flickr.com/photos/simusa/14490941557/ and File:BlankMap-World-v2.png are available under the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike (CC BY-SA) license (emphasis added), and the license tag you applied to your derivative work does not satisfy the criteria, because CC BY-SA requires that a modification be also be made available through the same license (CC BY-SA). 朝彦THANKS! I've asked questions about what license to use multiple times without a reply. I'm MORE than willing to change the license, but I don't have a clue how to do that! Like I said, two of your images are licensed under CC BY-SA. The share-alike clause is asking you to use the same license with the original when you make a derivative, which is CC BY-SA 3.0 {{Cc-by-sa-3.0}} or its later version, CC BY-SA 4.0 {{Cc-by-sa-4.0}}. You uploaded with the CC BY 2.5 {{Cc-by-2.5}} license tag, which is a different license and does satisfy the share-alike requirement. You need to change the license tag to the right one. I cannot perform this action for you, because you are the creator of the derivative work. Hope this helps. 朝彦 | asahiko (talk) 09:19, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

@朝彦: THANKS AGAIN! The most important point is that you described 4.0 as a later version of 3.0. My thought all along was that I couldn't license under a more recent version than the original author, because the original author wouldn't have been able to know what was in the version that was to come in the future! @朝彦: Well, I just tried to change it. Maybe I did, maybe not. I'm a newbie. Leave it to me to try to make such a complicated image. In any case, this is almost a moot point, since somebody else replaced the image on the "convergent evolution" page with a table, of all things. (1. Re: wikitext) I saw your edit, and sorry, I wasn't aware that you might be new to editing wikitext. You can leave the "Permission" in the "Information" template alone. (I'll assume you're editing the source and not using the Visual Editor; tell me if otherwise.) What you need to do is go to the section that says Licensing (int:license-header). You'll find two lines, each with the template calls: "wrong license" (which I added) and "cc-by-2.5" (added by the upload system when you selected this from the dropdown menu), each in curly double brackets. That's what I'm referring to. You need to change this "cc-by-2.5" to "cc-by-sa-4.0". If you see the correct template when you save it, you can go ahead and also delete the "wrong license" line too if you want.

(2. Re: later versions) This is not explicitly mentioned in the summary of the license, but is something you find in the full legalese. For instance, CC BY-SA 2.0 §4 (b) says "You may distribute, publicly display, publicly perform, or publicly digitally perform a Derivative Work only under the terms of this License, a later version of this License with the same License Elements as this License, or ...." (emphasis added). The image from Flickr is 2.0, and the map is 3.0. That's why the license you apply must be either 3.0 or 4.0.

@朝彦: Wow! Best reply ever! (sorry Aspro!) 1) Done and done! 2) I hate legalese, but your quote completely explained the situation! I may even venture into making more collages in the future! 3)No problem with the replacement. A graphic artist thought her/his version was better, it explains the same concept, and I "learned" some cool stuff about using tables like images. (1) Looks good! Cleaned up a little more after that. Always remember to include the original author's name when using other people's CC content, because that is a key requirement in the "Attribution" clause. Also, I believe license version 3 and earlier required the title as well. (3) Huh. And CSS image crop? I've never seen that trick used this way before. Yeah I agree.
