- Did you think that Disney's copyright on its characters did not extend to people wearing costumes? You didn't discover a loophole that everybody has overlooked - see Commons:Derivative works for lengthy details on what's permissible. Stan Shebs 01:21, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Zelda images
[edit]Probably they should be deleted. Only way to save would be if they were original artwork that didn't actually have anything to do with Zelda. Stan Shebs 14:40, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Redrawn works based on a copyrighted character still infringe on the copyright of the character's creator if they resemble the original work.

Not as far as I know. The original image came from a military website [1] and is in the public domain from the website's privacy section. All I did was remove the background and add a shadow to the belt. I got the idea when I saw the background removed in game console pictures (compare this with this). -- Oakster Talk 20:32, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Motorhead images
[edit]I note that the it: versions of the images make reference to an OTRS ticket, the ticket presumably being some sort of declaration of free license or some such. So it seems likely that the images are legitimate. But at the the very least, the OTRS ticket numbers need to be copied over. Stan Shebs 23:14, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
Video game people
[edit]Thanks a lot for your job. If you have time, feel free to add this images into the category Category:Electronic Arts (for example, we have a category Category:id Software with peoples). We also have an article Video game people ordered by name (for the moment every thing is merged: game designers, producers, graphists, musicians...). Thanks a lot. ~ bayo or talk 13:22, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
- Another little thing. If you can request the Flick author to see if he own a bigger image for Image:David Perry with Hecker.jpg it will be very nice. Thanks a lot. ~ bayo or talk 13:33, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but I really don't have the time for that. I'm not very active at Commons to be honest. Deadman (talk) 21:39, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
Notification about possible deletion
[edit]Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.
If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Deadman. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Deadman~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
