Please specify why this image is licensed under GFDL. Site didn't mention it. --EugeneZelenko 16:04, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- I got a permission of the author throught email... but i already ask the person to add a text on his/her page explaning about GFDL permision AND to send an email to permission at wikimedia ... :( sorry for that, i feel very very embarrassed. --Cyberpunk 19:03, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
- I think best solution for you – to make special template for this site, since you had uploaded many images from it. All e-mail exchange relating authorization of using images under GFDL should be placed on template’s talk page. See Template:Vector-Images.com as example. --EugeneZelenko 19:29, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
Re: Copyright tag
[edit]Well, take a look at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Arjan and tell if its ok... I did know, i'v never even thouhgt, we could create tags/templates. --Cyberpunk 22:24, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
- I think it's OK, I just add GFDL (since you got permission to this license too). You also may be interesting in Creative Commons licenses when asking for authorization. They are more simple for understanding (from my point of view :-). Initial authorization looks like CC-BY. --EugeneZelenko 15:54, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Image:572px-Disdyakisdodecahedron.jpg and some other
[edit]Please note that you uploaded thumbnail of image, not image in original size. Please click on link below image, not image itself for uploading. You could recognize thumb by size prefix in file name.
Please reupload full size image under original names.
You should also mention Wiki of origin, author/uploader and history of uploads in these images.
Please add {{NowCommonsThis}} or {{other name}} to images on English Wikipedia, so other users will know that these images are already on Commons.

Re: thumb images
[edit]So i thing that tag saying there's an image with the same name on commons also means that the image will be deleted? i saw there was a very poor image on the portugues wiki, and one with the same name on commons, no reason to have 2 of them. --Cyberpunk 23:37, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- It depends on project policies. Big Wikipedias could prefer to keep source images for preserving history of image, so {{NowCommons}} tag is only informative. Smaller projects could just delete image if it's not violate Commons copyright policies. I remove local duplicates in Belarusian Wikipedia, AFAIK, Russian Wikipedia admins do the same thing.
- I'll recommend always add that tag to local images, especially when they come from other Wiki.

Image Tagging Image:11383050724.jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:11383050724.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. I have tagged some of your pictures with the template above, but the license term seem not to be compatible with a free license. --Matt314 15:48, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:China 02.JPG. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|cc-by-sa-2.5}} to release it under the Creative Commons or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. [edit]Hi, I find your image Dragonball_all.png very nice. Could you make one with transparencsy? --151.38.18.125 17:53, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
File:Erotic Dice d6.JPG has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |
