bot self reverting, size question

[edit]

Please check [64] the file is fairly large. Also, not sure if there is a point in removing the tmeplate when set manually, i.e. a user considers it's needed. Special:Diff/948945264
 ∞∞ Enhancing999 (talk) 11:22, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for the message, I've modified the script to let bot check the size of the file as well when detecting if it's large or not - currently the limit is 10MP and 10MiB. No, bot won't check who added the template, but I set a quite low threshold to avoid some conflict with human. Stang 11:29, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • In the sample, I thought the template was helpful not so much because of the file size, but because of the picture being fairly wide. Maybe very wide images would be good candidates for the template as well.
     ∞∞ Enhancing999 (talk) 11:32, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nice catch! I add another limit NOT to remove the template when file has a ratio larger than 3:1 or 1:3, what do you think? Stang 11:40, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sounds good. The sample is very small, but the two panoramas extracted from it need it certainly. BTW, what happened at [65]?

Redundant addition of Template:BadGIF

[edit]

Hi BadGIF, your bot shouldn't be doing edits like this where the file already has {{Vector version available}}. Multichill (talk) 17:28, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
