Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

You requested undeletion at Commons:Undeletion requests - however, the image is not yet deleted but for discussion at Commons:Deletion requests/File:Katy roberts animal rights pacifist.jpg. You can participate in the discussion. Please sign any comments you make to the discussion using four ~~~~ tildes, the software makes that to a signature. Additionally you removed the license tag from File:Katy roberts animal rights pacifist.jpg indicating, that you not want to waive all copyrights on that file and not place it in the public domain. Well, thats not ok, files on Commons must be free so that everyone can reuse them for any purposes including commercial reuse. Uploading a file only for use in an Wikipedia article but forbidding unrestricted outside reuse is not possible. --Martin H. (talk) 12:38, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Can anyone explain to me in simple steps how one can upload a photograph to Wikipedia without encountering a copyright problem?
