I wasn't blanking the page for no reason

[edit]

HurricaneCovid's user page was a double redirect so I fixed it and that made the page blank so it was no further needed. --Red-back spider (talk) 08:18, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Red-back spider: You didn't fix anything. The page prior to your blanking was a perfectly-working interwiki link leading to their user page on the English Wikipedia (note the very obvious w: prefix in the link). In fact, the page wasn't even a double redirect (in terms of technical processes), as the English Wikipedia would think that you only navigated to the link once (since the original page, which is on a different wiki, is not counted). What you could have done was change Qwerty325 to HurricaneCovid to land the viewer directly to their English Wikipedia page without redirection, however you instead blanked the entire page. That's not really fixing anything, is it? Chlod (talk) 08:46, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oh...I am very sorry for that mistake I made. I wasn't doing wikimedia commons for a long time so I forgot how to fix them. I'm really sorry. --Red-back spider (talk) 03:03, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Red-back spider: It's all right — mistakes are opportunities to learn. I do, however, suggest that you send your apologies to HurricaneCovid instead, as I feel like they would appreciate that. Best regards and thanks for understanding! Chlod (talk) 03:09, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
File:Bayombong Town Hall (December 2020).jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Does this count as a valid PD rationale?

[edit]

I found an ArcGIS StoryMap directly produced by the National Weather Service in collaboration between their Dallas and San Antonio forecast offices. (URL: https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/05696a8e01bc4e91a0a941290a62e86d) and it features the very same dead man walking tornado picture that is currently being nominated for deletion. Would that StoryMap since it’s directly produced by the NWS count as a valid PD rationale, even though it isn’t explicitly on a .gov website? I’ll add that it does link directly from the NWS San Antonio page on event summaries. So it was clearly made by the National Weather Service. Plus the specific StoryMap page has the NOAA/NWS logo on it, which are both registered trademarks of the aforementioned NOAA/NWS. If ArcGIS was unilaterally using those logos; they’d probably be sued by the federal government for trademark infringement. 2601:5C5:4201:68B0:D882:6FF1:3ECC:6F07 17:27, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

1997 Jerrell tornado.

[edit]

Just to warn in advance. There is a deletion request affecting all Non-NWS images on NWS servers. And that argument is currently veering towards deletion. If the consensus is to delete. I (or someone else) will have to re-nominate the 1997 Jerrell Dead Man Walking tornado picture for deletion. WestVirginiaWX (talk) 22:33, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have reluctantly had to renominate the file for deletion. WestVirginiaWX (talk) 16:39, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrol given

[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. -- CptViraj (talk) 11:48, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
