- Hi Patrick - The New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center posted these online - https://www.filmlinc.org/nyff2017/films/macao/
- 1952 film - are these not in public domain? CerroFerro (talk) 21:03, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
- It's the same photography. --Patrick Rogel (talk) 20:48, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- And the source that identifies it as recently re-copyrighted? Not sure where you got it, and how to screen the images when evaluating them for posting. CerroFerro (talk) 19:03, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry, just checked the webpage. But my question still stands on how to identify valid uploads for images. Is there a site where available ("legal") images can be searched? I uploaded images from MOMA recently - do those need to be deleted?
- If the object is to improve the articles, let's do so, rather than simply block editors without making a constructive personal communication. Hundreds of Wikipedia movie articles need images. What assistance do administrators have to remedy this? CerroFerro (talk) 19:14, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Patrick. Have you placed a block on my Username, my account? CerroFerro (talk) 17:30, 3 May 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (film) 1962. Robert Aldrich, director. Bette Davis.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (film) 1962. Robert Aldrich, director. Bette Davis.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

- If you can obtain the "written permission" for the images, that would be much appreciated. I'm trying to improve the narrative portion for Robert Aldrich, a major American film director. His entry on Wikipedia, much as that for Austrian-American director Josef von Sternberg, has languished for years. If you know of serviceable sources for such images, please share them. We all have the same goal: to improve the articles.
Best Wishes, CerroFerro (talk) 18:13, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
