Copvios
[edit]Hi. Thanks for catching a number of copyvios. There is a useful gadget called Quick Delete that you might want to use - found under preferences - gadgets. This also sends a notification to the offending user Gbawden (talk) 11:55, 27 March 2019 (UTC)
- Gbawden Greetings. Thanks for the info above and has checked the feature on my preferences. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 12:05, 27 March 2019 (UTC)
- Gbawden Hi, I have checkeed the Quick Delete as per your instruction and I expect a drop down icon would be shown under "More" menu and I could not fight it. Kindly advise. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 13:47, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
Notification about possible deletion
[edit]Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.
If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Copyright status: File:Tai Tuivasa at UFC 234.jpg
[edit]Copyright status: File:Tai Tuivasa at UFC 234.jpg
This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Tai Tuivasa at UFC 234.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

File:KhamzatChimaev.jpg
[edit]I don't know the details of how this deletion nomination process works, so I will just quote from the message I got.
It says: "There is no evidence the image is taken from the source indicated" and then it states your name as nominator.
"Source" for the image states: "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oB07t5rElEA at 0:07, cropped"
0:07 on the youtube video is CLEARLY where the image is cropped from, and the video itself is posted to youtube under a CC-license.
What exactly is your issue with this picture? I don't understand. Vattav (talk) 14:14, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
- :Vattav I have another look at the video and notice Chimaev was at the far background. Apologies as it was my mistake. I have removed the CSD. my bad. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 05:00, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
Problem with your custom signature
[edit]Your account has an invalid custom signature set in the account preferences.
A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software. You can see your custom signature settings at Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-personal-signature. You can check your signature at https://signatures.toolforge.org
There are multiple possible errors. This message is being sent to people who have the "Mismatch between link and username" error.
The problem: Your signature links to a different user account. This often happens when you set a custom signature and then change your username.
The solutions: There are two ways to fix this problem. You can reset your signature to the default, or you can modify your signature.
- Modify your custom signature:
- Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences. (You need to do this step on the wiki where the error is, which is probably the one where you're reading this message.)
- Look in the Signature: text box for your custom signature code. This contains the name of an account, but it's not your account. It's probably the name of another account that you used.
- Change the wrong account name to your current account name.
- If you have more than one account, and you are trying to link to the other account, then change at least one of the links to your current account name. For example, change
Username (talk)
to:Username2 (talk)
(one link to the current account's userpage, and one link to your other account's talk page), or toUsername (talk • contributions)
(two links to your other account and one link toSpecial:Contributions
for your current account).
- If you have more than one account, and you are trying to link to the other account, then change at least one of the links to your current account name. For example, change
- Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
After you have done this, the error will be fixed. If the error is not fixed, then clicking the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page will produce an error.
If you need help, please read mw:Special:MyLanguage/New requirements for user signatures/Help. Thank you. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk)
Over-categorization
[edit]Hi Cassiopeia,
I just reverted [1]. Please take a look at Commons:Categories#Over-categorization. The file needs to be in the most specific category. The removed categories are already directly or directly included in Category:Ilir Latifi.
Jgui (talk) 11:56, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
- Jgui OK, thank you for letting me know. Appreciate it. Stay safe and best. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 08:43, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Cassiopeia, I have just seen your message on my page. I am pretty sure categories I have removed were clearly Commons:Categories#Over-categorization. If you don't think I am right, please open a subject into the dedicated community page and let me know. Jgui (talk) 11:43, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
- Jgui Thank you for your message. I understand your concern. However, you have removed some of the cat and yet kept the same on other pages. And some of the cat should be kept. I will do the removing and keep the cats that is necessary. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 01:10, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
- Could you give me an example of a file and a category you think that was not to be removed ? Jgui (talk) 13:50, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

Category:Male_mixed_martial_artists_from_the_Sweden has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category. In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! |

again Over-categorization
[edit]Hi Cassiopeia,
as you are not new on Commons, I am a bit surprised that you continue to clearly overcategorize files, despite you had been notified already about this problem: [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9], [10].
Please study Commons:Categories#Over-categorization!
Also, you should know where to put a vote in an DR discussion. It is below the original nominators rationale, not above it, as you did[11][12][13]. --Túrelio (talk) 08:23, 9 July 2022 (UTC)

be more careful
[edit]Hi, before tagging a Youtube-sourced image as copyvio, as you didhere with File:JiriProchazka2022.png, make sure that the underlying Youtube-video is not under a Commons-compliant CC license, as was the case with the mentioned file. --Túrelio (talk) 06:44, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

Please sign your postings
[edit]As a courtesy to other editors, it is Commons:Signatures policy to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, deletion requests, and noticeboards. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then automatically be added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). Thank you.
