1801 Hollis Street, Halifax

[edit]

Hello Ben MacLeod:

Saw you take an interrest in making an extraction of 1801 Hollis Street from my wide angle view of the Halifax waterfront.

It is one of the larger buildings on the waterfront but, for curious, why is this address of interest to you?

Best,

Gordon GRDN711 (talk) 19:06, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi GRDN711, thanks for uploading that skyline pic! I have been working on beefing up some of the stubby English Wikipedia articles on various Halifax buildings. Last night I started working on 1801 Hollis Street. Turns out the history of the site's development is actually quite interesting. I wanted to find a landscape photo taken some distance away, but most of the photos on Commons are portrait format (which stretches out the infobox) or taken from the base of the building or some other odd angle. Best regards, Ben MacLeod (talk) 19:23, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Ben:
See if this image serves your purpose better -
2022-08-15 Halifax Ferry Terminal and 1801 Hollis Street building
.
The 1801 building is so boxed in that even with a drone, it would be difficult to find a good angle. A view from the water is probably best,
Best,

Thank you Gordon, that's perfect! I've added it to the Wikipedia article. Great pic of the ferry terminal too. Best, Ben MacLeod (talk) 01:35, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
