Coats of arms
[edit]Hello Bassoonstuff, and thank you for uploading the SVG versions of several coats of arms. Please don't use Category:Heraldry by country though. This is not a category that should contain images but serves as a container for other subcategories like "Heraldry of the United Kingdom" and so on. For your recent images you might want to use Category:Coats of arms from the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis instead. Regards, De728631 (talk) 00:13, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
- Please watch out. You need to type the exact name of the existing category "Coats of arms from the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis" as it is spelt in the blue link above. "Coats of Arms of the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis" as you added today does not exist, and it is as redundant as "Liste der Wappen im Rhein-Neckar-Kreis". We could perhaps create a redirect from the German "Liste der Wappen..." to the existing category, but I don't see a need for that. De728631 (talk) 00:18, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- By the way, "silver" or "silber" in heraldry is mostly depicted as white. E.g., the German Wikipedia recommends white (255 255 255) for vector graphics, although shades of grey may also occur. In the end, I guess this is a matter of taste. De728631 (talk) 23:20, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
SVG-Files
[edit]Hello,
thank you for uploading all these Coat of Arms as vector graphics. But when you upload new graphics, could you look if there still exists a vector graphic on commons? So you could upload your version as a new version if it is better. Par example in case of de:Mückenloch you uploaded file:COA Mückenloch.svg but there is also file:Wappen Mückenloch.svg. There is no reason why to have two .svg-files of the entire same CoA here on commons.
If you like, I could tell you some towns and cities, there exists a correct .png or .jpg Version of their CoA but there is also an awful here on commons. So if you are interestet in creating and uploading correct versions, just tell me, it would be great to get rid finally of these incorrect vector versions. Fränsmer (talk) 02:02, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
Help!
[edit]Would someone out there please tell me how to communicate with Fränsmer? I can't seem to navigate my way through the Commons maze. Bassoonstuff

- Hello Bassoonstuff. You wanted me to contact you. Fränsmer (talk) 21:14, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
Hi Bassoonstuff. I'm sorry, but I can't help you with your Commons account because I'm not an administrator over here. I'm only a Wikipedia administrator and even those have no access to account details such as email addresses. Did you provide a valid email address in your User preferences at Commons? There's also a manual for setting up your email function. De728631 (talk) 23:55, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
File:City Seal Swan River.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Dear Bobby,
thank you for overworking File:CoA Meckesheim.svg. I found that you uploaded a very similar version as File:COA Meckesheim.svg that is not used in any article. I have moved all your author information over to File:CoA Meckesheim.svg and would like to create a deletion request for File:COA Meckesheim.svg. Please have a look on both files and add any information missing in File:CoA Meckesheim.svg. I will create a deletion request soon. -- Dr. Schorsch (talk) 08:32, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
- I have filed a deletion request now. -- Dr. Schorsch (talk) 11:47, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
