Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2015 is open!

You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2015 Picture of the Year contest.

Dear Antondimak,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2015 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the tenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2015) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1322 candidate images. There are 56 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category. In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 28 May 2016, 23:59:59 UTC.

Non-systematic updates

Greetings, updating File:COVID-19 Outbreak World Map Total Deaths per Capita.svg one country at a time, non-systematically, creating multiple non-systematic uploads per day probably is not a good idea. --Dan Polansky (talk) 17:10, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

I agree. I tried to update all of them. However, at some point, there seemed to be a bug. I applied the same method I used for the others to Morocco (changing the color code in the svg source code), and I noticed it hadn't updated for some reason. I tried to revert it to the previous "stable" version, but for some reason it was reverted to the old version, with none of my edits. I tried doing this a few times, reverting to different versions, uploading new files, but for some reason what ended up happening was that always the current version was the old March 29 version, and the old ones were the "stable" version. It must be some sort of bug. I didn't manage to solve it, so I gave up and the map remained as it was. --Antondimak (talk) 17:27, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

Wait a minute there's a script!? Well that's certainly a more productive way of working. However I notice that Morocco, which should be in the 1-10 deaths per million category, is listed as having no deaths. --Antondimak (talk) 17:32, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

Something more minor, the script seems to treat Morocco and Western Sahara as the same country, but there's a border between them which implies that they are treated as separate. --Antondimak (talk) 19:18, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

Hello Antondimak. Turkey has yet decided to withdraw from the agreement. After three months after the decision to withdraw must be approved by The Secretary General of the Council of Europe. See Article 80 of the Agreement [1]. Therefore, the decision to withdraw hasn't yet been approved by The Secretary General of the Council of Europe. Can you restore this file to the old version? The notification of withdrawal has been received by the Secretary General, so now it's a matter of time for Turkey to officially withdraw. So I assume we should make the change on the first of July? --Antondimak (talk) 12:07, 20 March 2021 (UTC)

Yes. Turkey, probably will be released from the contract on July 1 officially if it notifies the Secretary General. If it happens that day, please change the file that day like that. :) Also, the main opposition party and some lawyers make some criticisms according to the constitution. See en:Special:Diff/1013169685. There is a complicated subject for Turkey. Because this aggrement was signed in Turkey on 2011. One of the first countries to signed is Turkey. The first country that notified the first approval to the council. And probably the first country to withdrawn from the aggrement. Uncitoyen (talk) 12:32, 20 March 2021 (UTC)

@Uncitoyen I uploaded a derivative work, I think a different space is better as we may want to show the "evolution" through times. I hope it's fine. Bonjour @Meskalam: , The notification for withdrawal has been reported to the Secretary-General by Turkey on 22 March 2021 and the Secretary-General has announced that denunciation will enter into force on 1 July 2021. I just wrote this sentence on the article on English Wikipedia. For this information, you can look at the full list of the contract. In the meantime, some political parties, some lawyers, some NGOs and some persons are filing lawsuits at the Council of State of Turkey for annul this decision. This agreement was approved by a law no 6251 in the Turkish parliament, but the withdrawal was made by the president's decree. In general, by Turkish law, the president can't make negative decisions for human rights issues. And according to some lawyers, the laws is above the president's decree. Therefore, this will be very competitive in Turkey for next 3 months. This information may be change at any time, according to the situation. Uncitoyen (talk) 17:56, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
