Quiet Revolution Wind Turbine
[edit]I seem to recall that you were intrested in having an image at wikipedia about the quiet revolution (QR) wind turbine, such as the one you have near your house. At http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=9ee1fe06ac7b05ff61a964758a33219&prevstart=0 and http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=33c26644c8fefd1cb4f5cd06d9e5065a&prevstart=0 you can find a model of which you can take a snapshot for use at wikipedia if you like. 91.182.226.145 10:22, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, but I just looked out of the window and took a photo of it. Seemed the easiest thing to do.
- The one in the model isn't quite a QR5. The QR5 has two spiders, without that mid-span spider. This is significant, as there's some aero-elasticity to the blades, which I understand to be part of the way they survive in high winds. Andy Dingley (talk) 14:03, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

I suppose you overlooked that the former content of this category is now in subcategories of Category:Steam engines by country. Due to this more precise categorizing the imprecise Steam engines by location is not longer required and can be deleted. -- Ies (talk) 16:59, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
- I can't stop you messing with the categories, but please at least check what you're de-categorizing before you do so. Even if you don't know what Stretham Old Engine is, you could try looking at Wikipedia (It's an encyclopedia, I've heard it's full of stuff like this) before you de-categorize it as an engine altogether.
