Thank you for your contributions. Your image or other content, Wlm1515, was recently deleted, or will soon be deleted, in accordance with our process and policies, because it was not, or is not, within our scope. Please review our project scope, but in short, Commons is targeted at educational media files including photographs, diagrams, animations, music, spoken text and video clips. The expression “educational” is to be understood according to its broad meaning of “providing knowledge; instructional or informative”. Wikimedia Commons does not contain text articles like encyclopedia articles, textbooks, news, word definitions and such. Each of these other kinds of content have their own projects: Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikinews, Wiktionary and Wikiquote. If the content seems to fit the scope of one of those other projects, please consider contributing it there. Otherwise, consider an alternative outlet. If you think that the deletion was in error because the contribution really was in scope, you can appeal it at Commons:Undeletion requests, giving a reason why it fits our scope to help others evaluate the matter. Thank you for your understanding.

Welcome to Wiki Loves Monuments 2015

[edit]

Hello Ammarah Khalid! Welcome to Wiki Loves Monuments 2015! I am the international organiser who is coordinating the upload campaign and the CentralNotice banner mainly. On this page we have summarised what the international team expects from a local team. One of the things we need is some translations to Malay. Can you provide me those on this page? Thanks! Greetings - Romaine (talk) 12:15, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Loves Monuments 2015 in Malaysia photos

[edit]

Hi Ammarah Khalid, I'm wondering if you can give the exact location/place/address/coordinate for the Southern Bank (04-MLK/24) and Peranakan Museum (04-MLK/25) at Malacca section of the WLM 2015 in Malaysia, because it seems like those two places don't exist in Malacca. I've searched in the Internet or explore on the road directly, it seems I can't find those two places. Thanks ^_^ Chongkian (talk) 12:32, 2 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Southern Bank (04-MLK/24) and Peranakan Museum (04-MLK/25) as mentioned in the WLM Malaysia list DO EXIST in Malacca!

[edit]

Hi Chongkian,

Thanks for your message but your statement is INCORRECT, just because you were unable to find it doesn't mean that it does not exist :)

Both Places (Southern Bank (04-MLK/24) and Peranakan Museum (04-MLK/25) as mentioned in the WLM Malaysia list DO EXIST in Malacca.

For this time, I will give you the direction and guide you to the point so that you can reach there easily but for other locations please do a bit of more search as comments like these may discourage others and this is the first time Malaysia is Participating so I hope you agree and keep the comments positive/suportive and appreciate the hard word done for WLM Malaysia  :)

Pasted below are the directions:

For (Southern Bank (04-MLK/24)

This is at the Jalan Bendahara Malacca. Just about 200 m after youu pass city Bayview hotel and renaissance hotel you will see Mercedes Car Centre on the left before the Southern Bank Building. Southern Bank Building is just after the Mercedes Car Showroom, on your left. This is a one way road. I hope now you will find it easily :)

For Peranakan Museum (04-MLK/25)

This is at Jalan tun tan cheng lock. If you go straight along the southern bank road. ( keep right) till u enter the red building of dutch you will end to a small roundabout At the roundabout take right turn and you will cross small bridge at Malacca river. On the bridge you will see Hard Rock cafe on the right. Please take left turn and then you will be on the road "Jalan tun tan cheng lock" "Peranakan Museum" is there and I hope now you will find it easily :)

Please spread the word about WLM Malaysia in your friends and social media circles.

Have a great WLM Malaysia! Thanks. Ammarah Khalid (talk) 17:26, 2 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Formation of Wikimedia Community User Group Malaysia

[edit]

Hi Ammarah Khalid,

I'm planning to officially establish the Wikimedia Community User Group Malaysia with the Wikimedia Foundation. I've also made many Wikipedia meetups around Malaysia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/Malaysia). So far I saw in Meta-Wiki that you have created the user group page (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Community_User_Group_Malaysia), although I have double checked with the foundation there was no official submission ever done. Do you plan to proceed with this establishment? Or maybe we can collaborate for this Malaysia user group official establishment?

Thanks.

Wiki Loves Monuments 2017 in Malaysia has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this gallery, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Malaysia monument list

[edit]

Hello. Where does the Malaysian monuments list come from? Is it an official list or did WLM Malaysia community make it? I would love to participate with a picture of Merdeka 118, but it's not listed. I'm not sure if that might be because this building is just opened this year. --Redeemer (talk) 17:34, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
