Alexis Jazz, I think I know what you meant. As you said here, you expect me to get back to work. Yes, me too! Because I spend a lot of time every day contributing to Wikimedia Commons. For me, it is everything. If I lose my work, it proves that I am useless. Therefore, I have explained to ~riley about my autopatrol right. But that's not my real problem with the autopatrol right. Problem was solved ages ago when you were forgiven. Well, you have two choices: 1. Accept that you are forgiven, and we all pretend nothing has ever happened; we won't question you any more on this matter and you shall not question us any more on this matter. As stated, I am indifferent to you getting the right so any admin are free to assign it back. 2. Don't accept the forgiveness... in that case, en:WP:DENY applies and you'd better leave. In either case, we are not going to spend any more time on this matter other than restoring the right whenever you are ready to go for option 1. Autopatrol

Hey Alexis Jazz, thanks for that. That means I can pass the license to my own uploads from now? For example I uploaded File:Alex Foxen WPT Amsterdam 2018.jpg yesterday and added the licensereview template. What do I have to do in future? -- M-B (talk) 18:10, 14 December 2019 (UTC)

@M-B: No, you are confusing COM:Autopatrol and COM:LR. License reviewer can be requested on Commons:License review/Requests, but even license reviewers are not allowed to review their own uploads. I wouldn't recommend applying for LR right now anyway, the expectations are quite high. You don't have to do anything and not too much will change. Consensus reading

There really is a difference, in practice as well, between vote counting and determining a consensus. A recent example would be Commons:Village pump/Proposals/Archive/2019/12#Shutdown Wikimedia Commons Welcome bot. Technically the ratio of {{Support}}:{{Oppose}} templates is 1:1 and if you include those that thought the bot should be delayed, which unless a rewrite is done is fundamentally a "vote" to disable the current implementation of the welcome bot, then the vote total would actually have been to disable the bot. But that wasn't what the consensus was. Taking the time to read the entire discussion reveals a much more nuanced position that the community clearly has. That the bot is a good idea and that it should not be shut down but that it should be tweaked to evolve with current expectations. If someone closed that thread by simply counting it could have resulted in the shutdown of the bot (depending on how they counted). That is why full rationales after those support and oppose templates are actually extremely helpful for closers who are reading and interpretation community consensus. "Bare" templates, just support or oppose with a signature, really add nothing to the discussion and certainly don't help with consensus determination. That is why we don't just count votes. It is far too easy to misinterpret what the community actually wants if you do that. Something we obviously want to avoid. --Majora (talk) 03:13, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

Gooks like revi who gets money from wmf, not a volunteer should be slaughtered on sight , you are right about attachment to wiki.
