You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2018 is open!

Dear Aldan-2,

You are receiving this message because we noticed that you voted in R1 of the 2018 Picture of the Year contest, but not yet in the second round. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2018) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked.

In the final (and current) round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2018.

The map contradicts historical evidence that suggest the Axumites were in control of the 5th to 6th cataract regions of the Nile valley during the 6th century, instead the kingdom of Alodia was already up by the 6th century A.D according to historical evidence. The map also suggests that Axum simultaneously ruled parts of Nubia and Yemen and this is highly unlikely as the Axumite conquest of Yemen took place in 530 AD while the Axumite destruction of Meroe took place in 330 AD and again contradicts the historical account that the kingdom of Alodia already existed in the 6th century (569 AD).Jedorton (talk) 12:58, 12 April 2022 (UTC)

File:Medri Bahri.png has been marked for speedy deletion. (Reason: I don't know if this should be deleted, merged with FIle:Mereb Melash.png and used as a redirect or if there are any other options but the person who created this map made it believing the Medri Bahri was a separate polity from the Ethiopian Empire. I created my own version with it as a region of the larger state not realizing this. I don't think I can add my image from a couple of days ago to this one and overwrite the article seeing as I didn't create it and would have to ask for permission, but that would mean I have to get that upload deleted otherwise there would be two, no? So this image is both mislabeled as the area is called Mereb Melash on English Wikipedia and it is not an actual historical kingdom so the image is false. The only time it could have been considered independent is during the Ottoman conquest of Eritrea when the leader Bahr Negus Yishaq sided with the ottomans but they had already set up a base in Massawwa and taken control of surrounding environs so that makes this map's territory false, along with that it's supposed to be based on the regions extent in the 1520s (on the eve of the Ethiopian-Adal war, which according to most sources, the Medri Bahri either remained a part of the Ethiopian Empire or assisted their Muslim foes during. If it doesn't fall under the rules for speedy deletion please make a normal deletion request on my behalf, no matter what it should be gone.) Why not upload a picture of a plant, animal, or anything else which fits into our scope. You can contribute any media type you want, including but not limited to images, videos, music, and 3D models. Start uploading now! If you don't have anything to upload at the moment, why not take a look at our best images or best videos, sounds and 3D models.
