File:Armenian reform package in Ottoman Empire 1912-1914.png

[edit]

Hello, thank you very much for the very detailed map you created. It is a fine work indeed. I had some questions though: where did you find the borders of the single autonomous Armenian province? And where have you read that the Armenian reform package was ended in February 1915 (my source, which is Annie Mahé et Jean-Pierre Mahé, Histoire de l'Arménie des origines à nos jours, 2012 states it was the 16th of December 1914)? Thanks for your time! :) -- RSVartanian (talk) 22 January 2020, 18:00 (CEST)

Good afternoon dear RSVartanian! Thank you for recognizing my work! I will make a separate map with the borders of the projected autonomous Armenian province. The fact that the Armenian Reform Package was completed in February 1915 - the contracts of the inspectors general stipulated that the Ottoman government could dismiss them with 6 months. They were therefore officially dismissed in February 1915. See here: Nicolaas A. Map

[edit]

Hello,

Just wondering how you created the map of the administrative borders of the first Armenian Republic? I just saw your work on the Wikipedia page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Republic_of_Armenia#/media/File:Administrative-territorial_division_of_the_First_Republic_of_Armenia_in_1920.png

And found it oddly similar to this work here by u/Nunuxx on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/lf0551/administrative_divisions_of_the_first_republic_of/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by NovaKrai (talk • contribs) 14:36, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello dear NovaKrai! My map and the map you indicated have in common only that they are both devoted to the administrative-territorial division of the First Republic of Armenia in 1920. At the same time, by comparing them, you can make sure that on my map, in addition to dividing the Republic of Armenia into nakhangs, there are also borders of the gavars that were part of them and information about them in the legend to the map (including the fact that gavar Dilijan was subsequently separated from Shirak Nahang). Also, the border lines between Georgia and Azerbaijan, the Shirak and Syunik nakhangs were clarified, between the territories controlled by the Armenian and Azerbaijani authorities in Tavush / Tovuz, alternative names of settlements and Lake Sevan were given in other languages (Turkish, Georgian). I think it's not hard to see that the legends of these two cards are completely different as well. In particular, it is indicated that this administrative-territorial division did not extend to the internationally recognized borders of Armenia, but to the borders of the territory to which claims were made by the Armenian delegation at the 1919 Paris Peace Conference. Also given information about how, Sincerely,--Accipite7 (talk) 09:54, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reply, Accipite7. I understand some internal border lines (Ottoman Vilayets, Armenian Gavars), colours, cities, the legend and the Azerbaijani-Georgian border is different, however, your map appears 70-80% identical, and I have confirmed this by overlaying it upon u/Nunuxx's map, please see the screenshot link I have attached; The pixels are almost exactly the same, the country names (except Russian SFSR) are the same, and most of the national borders and lake and sea shapes: https://paste.pics/74a5355d7ab1837ced4478a9af8b0f9c Surely you must recognise the inherent similarity? Perhaps u/Nunuxx is due some credit as I find it hard to believe yours is original considering u/Nunuxx's was published some 3 months ago on Reddit.com. Map Projections Used (Coordinate Reference System)

[edit]

Hello,

Thank you for your work! I was wondering what's the projection system in your map? I'd like to georeference this map to compare it to the current political borders. I don't see lat long lines and it's hard to guess the actual coordinate reference system of your map.

I'd really appreciate if you could share the shapefile / vector data of this map. However, I understand if you'd like to keep it private. — Preceding unsigned comment added by VaanArc (talk • contribs) 22:40, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello VaanArc,

I think you may be better off asking the original creator of the map, "Nunuxx" on website Reddit. Evidently, they have published this map months prior to Accipite's version being posted here, you can see by comparing the date it was published: https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/lf0551/administrative_divisions_of_the_first_republic_of/

If you compare the maps, you will see it's a carbon copy using similar borders, vectors, heading, fonts, and labels as Nunuxx's OC by overlaying them upon each other: https://paste.pics/74a5355d7ab1837ced4478a9af8b0f9c

Важно

[edit]
