Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). File:Pitufo.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with {{subst:OP}} and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Yours sincerely, Herby talk thyme 10:03, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- These images all seem to be originally from television programme and will not be copyright free whatever the licensing on youtube. --Herby talk thyme 10:04, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- They were uploaded to YouTube by the TV media producer itself, please, unblock me, regards.--A4exocet (talk) 10:21, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- The television station will hold copyright or the programme production company. They will need to provide permission via COM:OTRS. Nothing else will be acceptable. I am prepared to unblock you but only if you cease removing tags and make not further uploads until this is resolved. Your behaviour so far is unacceptable. --Herby talk thyme 10:24, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- They were uploaded to YouTube by the TV media producer itself, please, unblock me, regards.--A4exocet (talk) 10:21, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- Oke.--A4exocet (talk) 10:26, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- Are you saying that even if the producer uploaded its videos to YouTube accepting CC-BY i need an aditional permission from them?, I have talked with three other biblios from Commons before proceed to upload all these files, please i want to clarify this, regards.--A4exocet (talk) 10:31, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- We have no proof at all that the producer uploaded these to youtube nor, if it was the producer, that they had the right to freely license the files. Without confirmation that the person/organisation who holds copyright is happy to freely license these we cannot host them. --Herby talk thyme 10:39, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, we have proves, click on "Desayunos Informales" in YouTube and you will see that they are the producers.--A4exocet (talk) 10:43, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- Sadly anyone can claim anything. The only way we can host the images is if the copyright holder uses COM:OTRS. Thanks --Herby talk thyme 10:45, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- This is the official channel of the TV channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Teledocepuntocom and there they have a channel that is "Desayunos Informales" that is the TV program from where i am uploading the content.--A4exocet (talk) 10:56, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- No ofenses but according this criteria images on Flickr published under CC aren't valid neither without COM:OTRS?, i don't see the difference for a content showed in TV, if the producer itself published it on YouTube under CC.--A4exocet (talk) 11:05, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

"However, since June 2011, YouTube offers the option to license videos under the free license Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 (CC-BY) which is compatible with Commons. Under Commons policies, these videos may be transferred to Wikimedia Commons, with the usual caution that you should not upload work that appears to be plagiarized or is out of scope. Be also aware of YouTube's terms of service".
For me it is clear that is not out of scope or plagiarized, regards.--A4exocet (talk) 11:34, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
My apologies
[edit]I am sorry about this and it seems you are correct. There are so many (illegal) screenshots uploaded and I failed to adequately check this. It certainly seems that these are correctly licensed. I am in the process of reverting these myself and I have restored the images previously deleted by myself and other admins. Please do check that everything is now correct. Again my apologies. --Herby talk thyme 11:53, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you, sorry if myself seems rude, it wasn't my intention and probably was because the language barrier, regards.--A4exocet (talk) 11:56, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks you for your understanding and I did not consider you rude I assure you.
- I have removed the tags now and also the main part of the messages here. I have left some so that others may follow the discussion (and maybe learn from my mistakes!!).
- I see that there are duplicate images here and maybe some of those (small resolution ones) could be deleted?
- Again apologies and thank you for your contributions to this project. Regards --Herby talk thyme 12:09, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, also there are some that despite i search them as "CC" in youtube then in the video it doesn't seem to show the CC-BY license, what about if i list them here those ones?, that was a mistake of me of didn't double checked it, according some adviced me in a group of telegram.--A4exocet (talk) 12:12, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- If you can delete these ones because i have them with a larger resolution:
- And these ones because the license is not showed explicitly in the video itself.
- Regards.--A4exocet (talk) 12:27, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- OK - off line for a bit - sorry.
- I've dealt with those you tagged above - thanks for going through them. Regards --Herby talk thyme 16:50, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Juan Sartori.webm. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

File:El Sartorio (1907).webm has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |
