Yemi and Femi are song writers, composers and passionate worshippers. Their shared interest in music brought them together as they began their journey together in the church in the early ‘90s being invited to sing in churches, conferences, Governor’s office, king’s palaces and campuses. Yemi and Femi both came from a family of music lovers. “I remember when my dad and mom would bring my brother, sisters and I together and make up songs for each of us with dad playing his guitar and we used to sing special songs in our church as well” says Yemi. Although Femi’s dad died when he was only six years old, he still remembers that his dad had so many musical instruments, microphones, public address systems, turntables and a lot of records which he used to play for the entire town on any special occasion. Femi also recollects having his own ‘music band’ when he was only four or five years old and “we used to make drums from empty cans and bowls with rubber band and plastic wraps” he jokingly said. Yemi and Femi were both involved in the choir group of each school they attended and they grew up to become zealous and devoted Christians holding various positions in the music ministry of their church over the years; Femi as the national choir leader for the Gospel Students Fellowship (GSF) and Yemi as the choir leader for her GSF campus fellowship. They currently serve as Music ministers with the Gospel Faith Mission Int., Philadelphia, PA. When asked about her educational background Yemi smiles stating “I’ve been in school all my life”. She completed her secondary school education at Unity Secondary School, Ado-Ekiti, obtained associate degree in accounting from The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti and was pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in accounting at Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria, before she moved to the United States in 2000. On getting to the U.S., she obtained an associate degree in nursing from the Community College of Philadelphia and became a registered nurse in 2003. She completed her Baccalaureate and Graduate degree in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University and University of Nevada, Las Vegas, respectively. Femi graduated from Anglican Grammar School, Ijare, obtained national diploma in furniture craft from the Government Technical School, Ado-Ekit; associate degree in civil engineering from The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti and has a degree in geology from The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA). They were separated in 2000 shortly after their engagement when Yemi moved from Nigeria to the United States with her family (Hence the song “Stay with me” from Femi). Before they were reunited and married in Philadelphia, PA in 2006, Yemi had released a music album “Just You and Me” and Femi had two music albums “The Reason Why I Sing and “Keateka” (Caretaker). “Baruch Haba” (Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord) is their first music album together. They are the presidents of The Kingdom Symphony Ministry (KSM), and founders of Kingdom Business (K-Biz) and Kingdom Symphony Studio (KSS) located in Philadelphia, PA.
