Explanation
[edit]In the large photo contests many translatable templates are used to make Commons as much as possible available in the local language of the users. You understand English, but many people don't. To make it easier to understand and join, we often use templates that have been translated. Many of these templates are only translated for a few languages, which is restricting who can understand a text or not.
The templates listed below are not specific to a country, they are all generic. Some explanations:
- file = template on files to indicate that a certain images was uploaded as part of a photo contest.
- before = if someone visits the special upload wizard too early, this template is shown to indicate that the contest has not started yet.
- finished = if someone visits the special upload wizard too late, this template is shown to indicate that the contest has already finished.
- no contest = if in a specific country a contest is not organised, this template is shown above the special upload wizard.
- thanks = after uploading an image, this template is shown to the uploader.
A red link in a certain row of this table means that the translation for the language of that row is missing.
