Physical traits that are related to common genetic variants (e.g. attached or unattached earlobe) and inherited genetic mutations (e.g. Camptodactyly), the one that arent mine are categorized differently
Genetic traits (Rollcloud)
[edit]Physical traits I have due to genetic mutations that I may or may not have inherited (some are spontaneous)
Syndactyly
[edit]Genetic trait in which a digit (finger or toe) has the appearance of being stuck together with another digit, it is benign when it is simple (only soft tissue connected), but can cause complications if it is bone-related, associated with the HOXD3 gene), it affects 1 in 2,500-3000 births
-
Partial simple syndactyly

Clinodactyly
[edit]Benign birth defect in which the distal phalange is curved outwards, it affects 3 percent of the global population
-
Bilateral clinodactyly
Camptodactyly
[edit]Benign but sometimes complication-causing disorder which has various ages of onset, it is associated with a mutation in the 3q11.2-q13.12 chromosome, it affects less than 1% of the population
-
Camptodactyly

Hypermobility spectrum disorder
[edit]Generalized joint hypermobility disorder which runs in families, about 20 percent of the population or 1 in 30 people are hypermobile

Extra phalangeal crease
[edit]Often useless phalangeal crease that is sometimes inherited, normally it is not the result of a functional joint.

Genetic mutation (not mine)
[edit]Physical traits I d o n ' t have caused by genetic mutations that may or may not be inherited.
Arachnodactyly: Hands i have spotted that are long and slender. They are a common feature in Marfan Syndrome, when someone has this feature though, it may be isolated, which means it isn't associated with an underlying cause, it's associated with the fibrillin-1 and 2 genes
